We recently toured this independent living community while exploring options for my parents, and we were very impressed. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of our questions. The community was clean, inviting, and had a warm atmosphere. Although we ultimately didn’t move forward, we had a very positive experience and would certainly recommend considering this community.

There is a big difference between just being alive, and really living. I am really “living at Holiday By Atria Elm Park in Roanoke Virginia”. I tell friends that this facility is like an “old time British residential hotel”. But it is more than that. It’s the people! It takes a village! Our village is led by our General Manager, Ginger Clark. She always has time to speak with us, answer questions, grant a request, or solve a problem. She keeps things running like clock work. Then there is Elizabeth Overstreet, our steadfast Assistant General Manager. She leads the waitstaff and housekeepers, all of which are efficient and caring people. Maggie Bamber is Elm Parks Office Manager. She has gained this position by coming up through the ranks. Her experience helped us weather a storm or two, and we are grateful. Angela Race is our Engage Life Coordinator. She is in charge of the “fun stuff”, and that’s what makes Elm Park a place of “real living!”. We like choices in activities. We recently added Executive Chef, Michael Bamber. His training and experience has helped make our meals a joy and something to look forward to. Together, our village cared for us during our recent renovations! They continue to support us through personal trials and challenges. They cook and clean for us. AND THEY CHANGE MY BED! Something I find increasingly difficult. Other than meals or riding our bus to the store or Doctor, “fun stuff” is what we do best. Folks here love to play; several card games, such as bridge; puzzles; trivia; bean bag toss, frequent players are a 98 year old and his wife who’s 96! Bingo, our favorite winner is 101 year’s old! I am 81 and I thought I would be the “elder” not! The activity I chose is gardening, my hobby. Ginger has encouraged me and, together, we developed garden spots, shared plants with residents, and offered house plant instructions. Folks here really enjoy the planted walking paths, patio and bird baths!

I love the community at elm park estates they are wonderful they treat me great I love to entertain them an they tell me how much they love me wouldn’t change it for the the world they mean so much to me they all have a special place in my heart each and every one of them an we are the dream team baby
