Élan Manatee Assisted Living and Memory Care

Moving a loved one into an assisted living community can be challenging, even under the best circumstances. From the very beginning, Whitney Barkey, Community Relations Director, was by my side every step of the way. She took the time to answer all of my questions, explain everything the community has to offer, and most importantly, was always honest and transparent throughout the process. I also had the pleasure of working with Shannon Scraggs, the Executive Director, who has been incredibly friendly, approachable, and available whenever I had concerns or needed guidance. My mom has been living in the community for over three months now, and from day one she has commented on how clean the community is and how kind, caring, and helpful the staff are. She receives her medications on time, enjoys a wide variety of activities, and has plenty of opportunities for socialization, which was one of my top priorities when choosing a community. One of the factors that gave me confidence in my decision was the community's outstanding track record, including zero deficiencies since 2019. It is also clear that staff retention is strong, as many team members have been there for years. I have visited at different times of the day and on various days of the week, and I am consistently greeted with the same warmth, professionalism, and genuine commitment to ensuring residents are happy and well cared for. I am truly grateful that we found this community. Knowing my mom is living in a safe, beautiful, and compassionate environment gives me tremendous peace of mind. I highly recommend it to anyone searching for assisted living for a loved one.

This facility is beautiful- very clean, well organized, and full of great amenities like a movie theater, art room, spa, cafe and a beautiful dining area. It felt warm and welcoming and all the residents I ran into throughout the tour seemed very happy. Whitney was great to work with-friendly & knowledgeable. Shanon, the director, was also incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Our only issue was that my stepmother’s level of care requires specific licensing that the community doesn’t have. Otherwise, we would have moved her here in a heartbeat. I was also impressed that both ladies were willing to help us find the right fit after we realized it wouldn’t work. Elan Manatee is not only a beautiful facility, but the people are so helpful and caring. I wouldn’t have been comfortable having my mother-in-law go to any other facility. The facility itself is set up like a high end hotel. They offer a variety of entertainment and activities for their residents to participate in. The caregivers and staff not only know all the residents, but they make a point to also get know the family. It is a relief to know that when we aren’t here, they are getting the best care possible.

Elan Manatee has truly become a wonderful home for my mom. From the moment you step inside, everything feels inviting — the building is always spotless, beautifully decorated, and designed for comfort. But what stands out most is the Elan Manatee staff. They are warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. They know my mom by name, check in with her often, and make sure she’s eating well and staying active. My mom has made several new friends since moving in, and seeing her connect with others has brought us so much peace of mind. The friendships she’s formed — with both residents and staff — have become an extension of our own family. We could not be happier with the care and community she has found at Elan Manatee!
