My parents have recently moved to independent living at Eastcastle Place. They were warmly welcomed and the transition went smoothly. They feel safe in their community and are "as busy as ever" with all of the activities that are offered. The grounds, living, and dining areas are well maintained and clean. The food is fantastic. The staff is courteous and professional and take time to get to know my parents and treat them with respect. Our family rests easy knowing that they are happy and in a safe and caring environment.

Two years ago my wife Joy and I moved from Milwaukee, where we have lived our whole lives, to Arlington, Virginia to be closer to our older son, Brian, as we age. It made sense and Brian and his wife, Megan, went out of their way to get us settled. Arlington is a very nice place to live. Even so, we really miss our home town. But we don’t want to simply move back to Milwaukee; we have a very particular place in mind. Eastcastle. To say we were familiar with Eastcastle and its terrific staff, wonderful accommodations, services and location is a vast understatement. We have friends who already live there and not surprisingly they love it. As do we. We have a reservation at Eastcastle and can hardly wait until an apartment becomes available. We had our eyes on Eastcastle for some time. We have toured there twice in the past and knowing how much we were impressed, the Eastcastle staff graciously offered to let us spend two nights at one of their guest rooms when we returned to Milwaukee in early June for a family wedding. Yes, returning to Milwaukee and Eastcastle would be, as the old song goes, a true sentimental journey.

We moved into a beautiful independent living unit and have found the staff and community to be beyond our expectations. We knew we'd like living here but we never thought we'd love it!! Everything from the first interview with Anna to the move-in with Jennifer went smoothly. The variety of food served by chef Tim and the people who serve the food is beyond expectations. We wish we would have moved sooner than waiting until we were 80 because there are so many activities here, our days are more than filled with great things to do. We can walk to so many venues in the area including a hospital. Do schedule a date to meet with the staff and learn more about this wonderful place. Doreen and Mike Festge

I want to take a moment to tell you about a great initiative that EastCastle Place offers those of us who have officially signed up and are waiting for EastCastle Place to become our future residence. One of the downsides of being on a waitlist is, of course, WAITING. Waiting is never easy. But the EastCastle staff has developed a way to make that wait much more enjoyable by making planned activities and facilities available to waitlist members. So my advice is to partake in this opportunity - they make it so easy to do so. Waitlist members have access to EastCastle Workout facilities, pool, and classes. I myself am taking advantage of Yoga twice a week - a great opportunity with a great instructor. A favorite activity is meeting Waitlist members for “Third Thursday Coffee” monthly at EastCastle or local coffee shops. These get-togethers give us a chance to get to know the staff better, ask questions of a current resident in attendance, and begin to build meaningful relationships with other waitlist members. It is a great opportunity to dialog with them on techniques (such as downsizing approaches) that they believe will make their transition smoother. These activities keep waitlist members actively engaged in the community. They provide knowledge about how the community operates and build familiarity and friendships so that by the time your new home becomes available, you have already begun that integration and actually feel a part of the community. It is a great process and really increases the comfort level as you approach that final decision about joining the community.
