A special thank you to Zilma, the Director of Sales, for her professionalism, kindness, and dedication. Discovery Village in Naples has been a wonderful experience for my senior father, who recently moved in and is new to the Naples area. The community is incredibly welcoming and friendly, and he has already made many new friends. The amenities are top-of-the-line, including a gym, pool, movie theater, and restaurant that even boasts a Michelin-starred chef. Many of the residents he has met rave about how helpful and attentive the staff is. The apartments are very well maintained and comfortable, and the onsite medical services are incredibly convenient and reassuring for both residents and their families. Overall, it has been a fantastic place for my father to settle in, and we are very grateful for the caring community they have created.

Our mother spent 5 wonderful years at Discovery Village at Naples Assisted Living. Her care and the staff there were wonderful. My sister and I have have been fighting with Chris Clark the Executive Director of the Assisted living area to get reimbursement for the prepaid but unused days in March after our mother moved out. Below are the details of this experience. She is 93 years young and of sound mind. For the past 6 months she has expressed a desire to be closer to family in case something happened to her. She had no one to take her to Doctors appointments on short notice and did not want to use Uber or cabs. All of our family that lived in the area has moved somewhere else. We found a retirement home in Charleston SC very close to family. We decided to move her and gave Discovery Village the required 30 day notice on Feb 12 to move out on March 18th. We received confirmation of this from the Executive Director Chris Clark. We had further communication with Chris concerning getting her medications and that her move out would occur on Tuesday March 17th. We arrived on the 17th and had her moved out by 230 pm. Nursing gave us her medications through the end of the month for which she had already paid, plus told us an extra 10 days of meds were included (and paid for) to hold her over till she got her new prescriptions in Charleston. Chris communicated to us that Mom would be sent a reimbursement check for the remainder of March residency. Upon arrival in Charleston we discovered the promised extra 10 days of medications were not included in what they gave us. Numerous calls to Discovery Village and the pharmacy resulted in each blaming the other and claiming the missing medications were in the packet. Neither party made this right and my mother had to purchase additional very expensive meds out of her pocket. We have been waiting for the reimbursement check since March 18. Numerous calls and emails have been sent to Chris Clark that were unanswered. My sister Terri finally got through to him on May 26th..and asked if he had read the emails and listened to the voicemails. He just dodged around the question. He promised a check was mailed on May 20th. To date we have not received the check and he once again is not responding to emails and voicemails. This issue is now three months old. The public and future residents should be made aware of this issue with Discovery Village. This is no way to treat senior citizens and Chris and his administrative staff should be ashamed of themselves. This situation has been handled unprofessionally.
