My father was a resident at both the independent living and assisted living buildings. While he was still active, he enjoyed independent living with it’s dining options and delicious food choices. They have in-house physical therapy with a gym and workout equipment. Housekeeping is always visible keeping the place clean and smelling good. There are a lot of activities to choose from and nice green spaces to walk around outside. I am very grateful for the staff at the Assisted Living. The front desk, administration, food service, maintenance, and caregivers were so friendly, caring and concerned about my dad. The caregivers especially were attentive and respectful to my dad at the end of his life. The building is new and beautifully decorated with a nice dining room and places to sit and relax which is nice, but I would highly recommend Discovery village because of the friendly and caring staff.

My mom recently moved into the Memory Care at Discovery Village at Castle Hills. Lauren Johnston was amazing from the first time we contacted her in June to when we actually made the move in March. Lauren is knowledgeable, understanding and genuinely caring. She made herself available and was responsive (even on weekends) to answer any questions. Since moving my mom into Discovery Village, I have felt at ease with the knowledge she is being cared for by people who have an interest in her well being. Memory Care is a lively place with a multitude of activities for residents to participate in. In addition they frequently have live music which is one of my mom's favorite things. I love how clean the facility is and the quality of the food is exceptional. Everyone I have come into contact with at Discovery Village at Castle Hills has been very friendly and kind. They have wonderful staff (Patty, Zoey, Sam, and MJ to name a few)who truly love what they do. I would recommend Discovery Village to anyone who may be looking at Memory Care for their elderly parent.

My mom was a loyal tenant for almost 3 years. She passed away on April 29, 2026. We informed them on April 24th she was sick. We cleaned out the apartment totally and turned the keys in on May 5th. When we talked to Brook on April 30 she expressed her condolences and said out of the goodness of her heart she would wave the May rent since she passed at the end of the month. On May 9th I see that they have deducted $2,100 from moms account. When we called Brook to ask about it she said you have to give a 30 day notice. I explained that mother passed and there is no way a person can give a 30 day notice when someone passes. She said what she meant by explaining she would comp us “out of the goodness of her heart” meant she would comp all mom’s meals, not rent. She never once said anything about meals! I think it’s terriable business to do what they did and I will tell everyone I know to don’t even consider this place. In addition to this mom moved in Aug of 2023 and by April of 2026 they had raised the rent $500 a month, which equates to $6,000 a year. I understand leases being raised but this is a little ridiculous!

Review for assisted living kitchen- I feel concerned about food safety and workplace practices. I’ve personally seen food being kept past what I believe are safe time limits and issues with cleanliness in the kitchen. Residents deserve fresh, properly handled meals, especially considering what they are paying. Moping going on while people are cooking not only is that disgusting but unsanitary a new chef is needed immediately I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves standards for both staff and residents.
