We are deeply grateful that my father-in-law had the opportunity to stay at Discovery Common for several months, where he was treated with the utmost compassion, dignity, and respect. Karyn, the Sales Director, and Kiel, the Executive Director, were both exceptional in providing support. I can’t even count how many times I reached out to them—before and after my father-in-law moved in—and each time, they responded promptly and patiently addressed all my questions. The nursing staff, med techs, caregivers, and the entire team were not only highly professional but also warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. They made the transition seamless and took the time to understand my father-in-law’s unique personality and preferences. Knowing he was in such capable hands gave us peace of mind. There were even moments when my father-in-law would forget he wasn’t still at home with us. It’s impossible to fully express how thankful we are that he had the privilege of staying in such a high-quality senior facility.

Discovery Commons of San Ramon has truly been a blessing for the families we serve. The moment you walked through the doors, you feel a sense of peace, knowing that your loved one will be in such good hands. Karyn Nash, the Director of Sales, has been an absolute delight to work with. She is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also truly compassionate. Karyn takes the time to understand a potential resident's unique needs and provided them with all the information they desire to make the best decision for their family. Her genuine care and warmth makes what can be a tough transition so much easier. The facility itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. It’s clear that great care went into creating a space that is both functional and inviting. The interactive activities are a huge draw—there's always something going on to engage the residents, from creative arts to group outings. It’s wonderful to see our loved ones participating and enjoying life to the fullest. The dining experience is top-notch. The meals are not only nutritious but also incredibly tasty, with a variety of options to satisfy every palate. It’s clear that the kitchen staff takes pride in creating dishes that make everyone feel special. As a partner in elder care within the community, I’ve seen many facilities, but none quite like Discovery Commons. It’s more than just a place to live—it’s a place where people feel valued, cared for, and, most importantly, at home. Karyn and the team have created a supportive, vibrant community that goes above and beyond. I can't recommend it enough.

Highest, heartfelt recommendations. Discovery Commons-San Ramon is a good, good place to live – an incredibly fortunate find for us. My brother moved into Discovery Commons about 5 weeks ago. It was a long overdue move, but while the many advantages of his having his own place in a 24-7 professionally-staffed assisted-living facility were obvious to us both, so also were the compromises, small & not-so-small, that apparently would be required for those benefits. Finding a really good living situation for him had begun to feel like “the impossible dream”. Well, Discovery Commons-San Ramon turned out to be our “impossible dream”. So, SO many aspects of life here are amazingly good - it’s a very special place. Respect, caring, warmth, individual choice, and flexibility are all striking hallmarks of this place AND these qualities are embodied & displayed by everyone (including even the residents’ visitors) while they are there. It’s really remarkable. The people working to make Discovery Commons possible, in ALL their various capacities & levels, are first rate, understanding, intelligent, deeply caring professionals AND they truly perform as a team. If a resident needs assistance or has a problem of some kind, that becomes the responsibility of whomever is available to resolve it – no “not in my job description” attitude here. These folks strive for, and take obvious pride in, providing the most satisfying possible homes for the Discovery Commons residents. The food is what you hope to find at a really good restaurant – an on-going wide variety of scrumptious, fresh, high-quality choices – served all day between 7 am & 7 pm by a wonderful waitstaff who quickly get to know their “customers” and provide then with caring, personalized attention. Every day there’s a schedule distributed to each resident of the wide array of activities being offered throughout that day - interesting, adult, fun, healthy, intriguing, etc., things to do – again, bravo, Discovery Commons. Bonuses: The facility is really conveniently located and easy to reach AND at the same time it’s beautifully, peacefully surrounded by nature, up on a hill, an out-in-the-country type setting – relaxing and refreshing. Plus, and so valuable, the entirety of Discovery Commons-San Ramon demonstrates their commitment to excellence, to doing things well, with quality and discerning good-taste - not cutting corners, no showy pseudo-elegance. I’ve gone on way too long, although there’s much more I could say…my brother and I just gratefully wanted to share our good luck in finding such a great place to live.

Discovery Commons San Ramon fka The Watermark at San Ramon is beautiful community! A brand new development w/ residents in mind. The Executive Director, Kiel (pronounced Kyle) has a true passion for the residents but I also observed his passion to create a great work culture with his associates. If that is how he treats his team members, I can only imagine how they care for residents. Highly recommend!
