We only visited and toured Danbury Westerville because after doing so we were sold. Devon, our tour guide knew the answers to every question we had and answered questions we hadn’t even thought of before our tour. After our tour I texted Devon a couple questions and she always responded promptly with answers. The best advertising for Danbury Westerville were the smiles on literally every residents’ face. Every resident I saw appeared to be happy and that’s all I want for my mom. We also saw several maintenance workers working while we were there which is also nice to see.

My mom entered Danbury’s memory care (the Glenn) with LBD, walking and in good physical condition. In just three months, she experienced multiple falls, unanswered pendants and pull cords, and inconsistent care. I raised concerns repeatedly to management about safety, staffing, and response times. Very little changed. What I observed was troubling—lack of consistent caregivers, limited dementia training, and an understaffed unit, especially during sundowning when residents need the most support. The most difficult moment was when I found my mom unresponsive in her room late in the afternoon. She had missed meals, and no one escalated concern. She passed away nine days later. There were a few caring individuals, but overall the level of oversight, communication, and accountability from management did not meet expectations. Ask very specific questions before placing a loved one here.

While my mom's time at the Danbury was short, ai had nothing but a positive experience with the staff and the care they provided. My mom was battling aggressive cancer that limited mobility and cognitive skills. The staff at the Danbury was incredibly helpful and willing to do all they could to make her final weeks as peaceful as possible. Not only was the staff exceptional, but the facility itself is very nice. She had 1 of the suites with a living area and bedroom. Given her limited mobility she never got to experience all the bells & whistles, but from the numerous visits I can say the staff does a tremendous job with regular activities, quiet areas for rest and reflection, along with a nice outdoors area to relax and enjoy the weather. I am incredibly thankful to all associated with the Danbury and highly recommend anyone considering this type of arrangement for a loved one to reach out and experience the Danbury for themselves.
