Update: after the review below was written we met with management to address The past few weeks have certainly been an improvement. We appreciate the effort to increase the quality of my mothers care. We moved my mother to Danbury about a year ago after she had a stroke. The good points are there are many activities and the food is good. There are definitely aides who are very nice and there for the right reason. The problem is the ones that aren’t. My mom is paralyzed on her left side and requires more care. She often waits up to 30 minutes or longer on her call light when she needs to use the restroom. We were told she would never wait more than 10 minutes . There is a shortage of staff and a lot of staff turnover. Aides are not trained on transferring a patient properly despite multiple attempts by our therapist to try and have a chance to show them how to transfer my mom. There have also been several instances where my mom has been handled roughly and snapped at, and it seems it’s happening more in the past few months. It’s not easy seeing your loved one being mistreated but they get away with it because they are short staffed. This is probably a good place for a loved one who doesn’t require a high level of care. We had been assured that this facility gives care through end of life but have been very disappointed in the way things are managed.

My mother is on her second stay at Danbury Millersburg. She did a rehab stay after an injury several years ago, which went very well, so when we were looking for an assisted living facility it made so much sense to start with Danbury. They were able to meet our needs, with very nice facilities, excellent food and a warm, caring staff. All right near home in Holmes County, where should could keep her existing doctors / nurses / therapists, her existing pharmacy, still go to our home church and see all her friends as a lifetime county resident.

The tour of the facility and the detailed breakdown of costs involved were great. Very nice facility with extremely nice and helpful staff. Always difficult to have to move an aging parent to a facility that can care for them, but danbury helped relieve a lot of our stress by us knowing they will be taken care of.
