My Mom was at Country House for 9 months, before she passed, and my Dad has been there for over a year. When my Mom arrived, she had her days/nights mixed up and wasn't eating. Within a couple months, she was sleeping at night and eating. When Mom went on hospice, she was able to stay in her own room to receive care. My Dad took longer to adjust to placement, but ultimately went from being continuously agitated, not eating and overall depressed to having regular sleeping habits, eats regularly and enjoys socializing and taking the daily bus rides. When I look at pictures of him from a year ago, I can't believe how much better he looks and feels now. When I visit him, we can enjoy our time together, which has really been a blessing as I didn't think I had many "good" days left with Dad. My parents situation was tough, for a variety of reasons. Country House and I communicated on a regular basis as Mom & Dad adjusted to their new home and we navigated weekly changes in their behavior. Even through staff turn over (which I feel is normal for this industry), I was able to stay in touch with staff and continue to work on on-going changes with my parents. Staff have always been polite and engaging with me. I appreciate them so much. When I have questions, they are always answered. Having strong communication is important, but especially important for me, since I don't live in Lincoln. Placing a loved one is scary, no doubt about it. But in the end, I'm so glad I chose Country House. Thank you for helping my parents!

After a lengthy search, I chose Country House at Pine Lake as the new care facility for my mother. The care has exceeded what I had hoped to find. Even with the major move from another facility, Mom did not experience the transient increase in dementia symptoms she had previously with just a room change. The director of nursing for Country House initiates contact for all her needs--office visits, changes in medications, lab results, etc. The meals are the best quality of any facility I visited. The rooms are bright and always exceptionally clean. The outdoor space is beautifully landscaped and arranged for easy access with walkers/wheelchairs. These things are important, but it is the daily care and activity that makes this facility so special. Laura, the director, has set a tone for attention to detail and constant engagement with all the residents. The entire staff seems to enjoy the work and to truly care about the residents entrusted to them. The constant engagement in scheduled daily activities (games, movies, baking, crafts, pilates, salon day, bible study, periodic outside entertainment and visits from the community, etc., etc.) as well as trips into the community several times a week (pie, ice cream, lunch, museums, movies, ball games in the summer, Lauritzen Gardens, the state capitol, even the casino!, to name a few) seem to help a great deal in maintaining activity levels, general awareness and overall mood of the residents. While there is no cure and the disease does progress, it is the multitude of special moments provided every day that create the best life possible for the residents and their families. A family support group is also available as well as special family events throughout the year. I cannot overstate my gratitude for the quality of life Country House is providing for my mother and the peace of mind that has brought to my entire family.

I have nothing but heartfelt appreciation for Countryhouse at Pine Lake staff and especially Laura. My mother has been a longtime residence and after an exhaustive search that included stays at other area facilities for the compassion, love and investment she’s made in others we found have been blessed to find and be embraced by the Countryhouse family. Laura and the staff has gone the above and beyond but more importantly they have provided an environment, resources and support we never envisioned needing in the care for a loved one. She has provided her a quality of life she deserves and support to our family both professionally and personally. Countryhouse attends to every detail including meals, outings, prompt and regular community and is an inclusive environment that all residences are valued, appreciated but more importantly respected. Outside of home and on he own I couldn’t see her with anyone else! Thank you Laura and the staff and supports at Countryhouse.

The Countryhouse at Pine Lake was a caring, compassionate “home” for my dad when we simply could not care for him anymore. They took him to see holiday lights, go for Sunday drives – and, his favorite, go have pie. The staff members were kindhearted and always willing to take that extra step. The surroundings were excellent - meals were generous and delicious. I felt like dad was in warm, loving hands – a second family who appreciated, valued and respected him (even when he was a little ornery).
