CountryHouse (70th and O) Reviews

My mom was at the CountryHouse on 70th in Lincoln for nearly 3 years. I believe it is the best one in Lincoln because of the Executive Director and Activities Director. The place was pretty good when my mom was initially there but there were a couple things that I wasn't happy with, the food and the TV programming. When Beth was hired a couple of years ago as the new Executive Director, things improved. She hired a chef and the meals are really good now, the TV stays on age appropriate programming as well as many of the residents will come in her office to visit with her throughout the day. In addition, CountryHouse has a great activities director, Tracy, who would make mom feel so special. She is the reason why I would recommend that CountryHouse is the best there is in Lincoln. It seemed all the residents would perk up when she would talk to them and she did talk to them and made them feel cared about. She would also take many of the residents (all that would want to go) on frequent drives. They would go different places, I remember sometimes they would go to Village Inn and my mom would get a piece of pie, sometimes to a chocolate place where they would get chocolates, sometimes in the evenings to see Christmas lights. She would cook with them and play bingo with them and create moments of joy. I have never had a problem with any of the staff and that's remarkable after 3 years. They are very caring, capable people.

I toured Country House on 70th and O street and found it to be very welcoming and warm. All the staff there were very friendly and helpful. One resident was having a bad day and crying and the caregiver sat down with her to visit and by the end of my tour the resident was smiling and talking with another resident and the staff member. I also noticed how clean the building is and the smell of fresh baked brownies as I was walking past the kitchenette. Several residents were there with staff singing and baking. So great to see how happy they all are. Would definitely recommend this facility to anyone for their loved one if they are looking.

My mother has lived at country house on 70th and O for over 2 years now. Turn over for staff was bad at first but when they got their current director (Beth)there 2 years ago everything has made a 360 degree turn around. All the staff there treat my mother like she is their family. She is always happy and engaged with activities. She goes on all the bus outings with Tracy and raves about all she gets to do there. The rooms and building are well kept and smells very nice. I could not imagine how my mother’s days would be without the love she gets from everyone. Thank God we found our family at Country House

My grandfather lived at Country House on 70th and O street and we were all very happy with the care he received there. After he got dementia he could be very angry and unreasonable at times but the staff there were patient and kind to him and to the family. The staff always greeted us with a smile and hello. The director is often out walking and visiting with the people who live there. My grandpa often looked for her or would be sitting in her office when we would come to visit. When he passed away they came to his funeral. And they gave our family a beautiful windchime to hang up to help remind us of how lucky we were to have grandpa. And also it reminds us of how lucky we were to have found Country House to help us all through his journey with dementia. They definitely are the perfect people for there jobs. I highly recommend Country House.
