Formerly The BayView, Compass on the Bay is one of the few communities in the Boston area dedicated exclusively to those with memory loss and dementia. Our state-of-the-art Memory Support Assisted Living community offers research-based treatment programming for those with varying levels of memory loss, from Mild Cognitive Impairment to diagnosed Alzheimer’s disease. We focus on the whole person, not just their basic physical or cognitive needs. Our method is to individualize a plan of care for each resident, providing just the right combination of services and programming to optimize your loved one’s overall well-being, sense of independence, personal dignity and enrichment.
Our innovative Compass programming sets a new course for people with Alzheimer’s and related cognitive impairments by actually treating the symptoms of their memory illness. Compass puts cutting-edge research into action through social engagement, lifelong learning, physical fitness, the arts, and our award-winning Brain Healthy Cooking Program. Our community is designed like home with private and shared apartments, small-scale community rooms and easy access to outdoor garden spaces, which enhance residents’ confidence and feelings of autonomy.
Compass on the Bay is proud to be the first community in MA to receive the Purple Flag for Dementia Accreditation™️, which recognizes providers who have demonstrated adherence to 60 practice recommendations identified as essential and valuable for individuals living with dementia.

Compass on the Bay has stepped in to support our family in multiple dire moments of need. My mother has had multiple respite stays at Compass often with very little advanced notice. She has always enjoyed her stay at Compass. Importantly, Compass has always been very responsive and flexible in their respite stay arrangements. They have been able to find an open bed with less than 24 hours notice and extend my mom's stay for multiple weeks than originally planned. They are a wonderful home with wonderful employees.

My wife has been a resident at Compass on the Bay for 15 months now. My family and myself could not be happier for the loving care and compassion shown by the staff there. Everyone, starting with the management on down has been a delight to work with. They are professional, proficient, knowledgeable and compassionate. I have asked a number of questions over her stay and always have received prompt and helpful feedback. This facility is truly top notch!

Compass on the bay has some great staff they took excellent care of my mom "Aunt Glo" with her memory issues. I never felt like she was ignored. The entertainment staff and food worked well for her. Its also not bad to sit out front on the porch with her in the summer and look at the water. Nice Facility
