Desiree is an absolutely phenomenal Activity Assistant! She brings so much energy and creativity to our residents, consistently engaging My mother in law in games and crafts. What really sets her apart is her initiative in taking residents on off-site outings. As a driver, she ensures everyone feels safe, comfortable, and excited to explore the community. She is caring, reliable, and truly enhances the quality of life for the seniors here. We are so lucky to have her.

My mother recently moved in to Cogir of South Bay. The staff did an amazing job with helping our family setup her new place and they were very attentative to making sure all her needs were taken care of. Special thanks to Fabienne (the move in coordinator) and Gary (from maintenance) with getting so many things done so quickly like: hanging her tv, hanging her pictures, setting up tv/internet, and placing her rugs. My family and I could not be happier with the result!

Desiree, the activities assistant is awesome!. She is very caring, attentive and helpful using Lifeloop with my mother in law. She does such a great job with her and all the residents. She's treats them like family and we truly appreciate her.

I agree with Dolores’s review. Cogir is a beautiful facility and attractive, but ongoing management problems have seriously undermined the quality of care and services. Over the years I’ve seen frequent turnover in Executive Directors, starting with Linda and continuing through several successors, and that instability has been disruptive and worrying for residents and families. My sister in law lived here and experienced the same pattern, residents moved into Independent Living who clearly needed more support, and vendor oversight appears lax. I’m particularly concerned that a homecare provider identified as Pioneer LA, now operating as Careline (facility number 194701143), has been allowed to provide services here for nearly two years, to my knowledge it is not licensed by the CDSS, which raises serious safety and compliance questions. This community has great potential given its location and appearance, but leadership must act. I urge Cogir’s management and the CEO to take these concerns seriously, intervene promptly, and conduct a thorough review of operations so this attractive community can deliver the safe, reliable care it promises.
