In just the last six weeks, it’s been incredibly disheartening to witness the significant changes within this community for my aunt and others — once vibrant with resident car shows, volleyball games, and truly engaged staff. The recent and sudden departures of several key team members raise serious concerns about the level of support provided by Cogir’s corporate office. A dedicated director who went above and beyond, even while recovering from major surgery, is no longer with the community. A valued nurse has not returned from maternity leave, the lead med tech and several compassionate care staff are gone, and they’ve increasingly been replaced by agency personnel unfamiliar with the residents. Now, the activity director is no longer there, and the sales manager has also made the decision to leave. This sharp decline in continuity and morale affects both staff and residents. It’s troubling to see such a vibrant and thriving community take a sudden downturn. These changes prompt a larger question: What kind of support and stability is Cogir offering to its employees, and by extension, to the residents who call this place home? The residents and remaining staff deserve better. I hope corporate leadership takes a serious look at what’s happening on the ground — before more of what once made this community so special is lost.

I strongly advise against placing a loved one here or seeking employment at this facility. Regrettably, I am compelled to give this establishment a zero-star rating due to multiple concerning issues. The kitchen facilities are entirely unacceptable—unclean, unsanitary, and poorly managed. The kitchen staff lack proper culinary training and frequently neglect their duties, often seen eating sandwiches and fries instead of preparing nutritious meals for residents. This negligence compromises resident health and safety. Housekeeping services are severely lacking. Staff are rarely present, resulting in consistently dirty resident rooms. There have been ongoing incidents involving the theft of residents' belongings and clothing. Alarmingly, staff members have been caught cooking in the kitchen during times designated for cleaning and resident care, further demonstrating neglect of their responsibilities. The nursing department also raises significant concerns. Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) frequently display limited knowledge of medication protocols and appear ill-prepared to manage their duties effectively. Residents are at risk of frequent falls, and there have been multiple instances of resident-to-resident abuse. Additionally, the caregiving staff are consistently poorly managed and severely understaffed, which severely impacts the quality of care. The lack of adequate staffing levels means residents often do not receive timely assistance, leading to safety hazards and unmet needs. Overall, this facility seems to prioritize operational convenience for management over the safety, well-being, and dignity of residents, as well as staff support and morale. Families deserve a higher standard of care for their loved ones, and employees deserve a workplace that upholds fundamental standards of safety, professionalism, and proper management.

Cogir was a godsend for our family. We looked at multiple other facilities. After spending 20 minutes visiting, we knew this was the right place for our mom. The staff was so helpful and friendly from the time we drove up to move her in. During my mom’s stay, the staff was amazing. Everyone, including the housekeeping staff were so friendly and accommodating. It’s not overcrowded and is clean. I highly recommend Cogir.

My name is Marie I have visited this place a few times recently was this week and what I've come to discover was very horrible the lack of care staff in the daytime is ridiculous for this building to have as much residents as it does you would think that Care staff would have at least five or six people in this building alone on all shifts but that is not the cases clearly this building needs a lot of work on the outside looking in is a beautiful place but once you step in is really terrifying you have Care staff sitting down on their phones in the middle of the day while residents says roaming around doing whatever like I said I have came there multiple times and seen this myself the smell in that building is horrifying the residents are not being changed their soaked and soil in their own yearning for over 8 hours because there are not being changed throughout the day you have Care staff disappearing multiple times going out back which I personally seen myself taking smoke breaks I have personally witnessed overhearing residents bedding clothing not being washed properly I have heard there are bedding and residence room that smells of yearning and I have not been washed in weeks / months and it is a constantly pointing your finger blame this person supposed to do with that person says they're not doing it and then you have day shift / p.m. shift not doing anything at all this is very scary this is a memory Care not a level 4 unit so why do you have residents very aggressively trying to escape going over the fence again I understand it's a memory Care but for that type of behavior is outrageous and in the midst of all of this you wanted to yourself where is management literally sitting in their offices right there you have the director office at overseas in the dining room and her door is open so I'm quite sure she hears a lot and sees a lot so that means she sees Care staff on their phone she hears a lot and she's still in her office that is a very big problem where I come from management God on the floor and they helped out when he needed to be helped out knowing that your building and you are executive is short staff and you are doing nothing about it is very crazy to leave it up to the med techs or Care staff to figure it out there is something very wrong with that situation and just say the least you have Care staff turned into receptionist who is going around telling everyone that their personal information she sees is in the front for everyone to look at which is by HIPAA law very dangerous because why is she telling carestaff that she sees their personal information which she is not allowed to you would think that this place will do a thoroughly thoroughly background / drug test on some of these Care staff I have walked in personally and smelled marijuana on some of them I have witness and seen Care staff in the back sitting on a couch outside / chairs in the back and I can assure you that the smell was not nicotine so you have to ask yourself these people are taking care of your parents your loved ones and that condition it's very outrageous but this is just my own opinion I give this place zero Stars
