Service for the most part seems good. Except the RA staff used a tenant's trash can(bottom) to push down the trash in the portable dumpster bin they use to gather the trash from all the tenant's rooms. So they're doing their job, (Great!)... at the expense of dirtying the tenant's trash cans more than need be. Mashing down the trash thats not in a bag will cross contaminate things, which could draw bugs, or spread potential sickness. Sickness that could end up killing a tenant given their age and potential lack of or losing their immune systems. Its not just the Cedarhurst staff handling these everyday use items. They get moved and touched temporarily by the tenant's and their families that come and visit. Working staff, housekeeping or RA's should know better. Have some common sense. Wokers wear gloves and have several other things at their disposal they can use to mash down the trash into their bins. I understand its for space/trip saving, but be cleaner about it. We(tenant's family) cleaned the trash can ourselves. Something that shouldn't need to be a thing. Im assuming if they used our can to do this, they have probably used other tenant's things for the same many times before. Cleanliness is important in a facility like this. Use your brain. We are approaching cold season. This could be a death sentence for some tenants if they catch something. For the money paid to stay here, this is unacceptable. Not a smart thing to do in front of anyone. Not that it should be done like this at all. Watched or not.

My experience with Cedarhurst of Highland was a very positive one! The facilities are very nice and everything is well maintained. The staff was always helpful, caring, and committed to the residents’ needs. Our care from the administration to house keeping, nurses to food service, maintenance to transportation, and all the employees in between was always top notch. I appreciated the many ways they helped our family from the decision to move to Assisted Living all the way to final care. I always had my questions/concerns handled promptly and professionally. I would recommend Cedarhurst of Highland to anyone needing Assisted Living care for their loved one. I felt the love from so many each time I walked into the building! And thanks for many warm welcomes with your special smile, Joanie Fitzgerald❣️
