I had my mother in Brookdale Richland Hills. The facility is beautifully decorated and nicely kept. My mom's room was very nice. They have walk-in showers and pull cords for falls. Madison and Blake were more than patient with my mom. I have no regrets placing my mother at Brookdale.

Update added April 1, 2026 An update to my previous review- I recently read the review of Wendy B and was so surprised to read such a vitriolic review of the place my husband thinks of as home where he has found nothing but comfort and security during the almost two years he has been there. I can’t imagine that Wendy B was describing the same place. The staff is the most dedicated, caring group I have ever seen. My husband is on over 20 pills per day and would have seizures if they were not administered properly. Țhe only problem with meds I have ever seen happened a few evenings ago when I was there. A resident was screaming at the attendant that she wanted her meds immediately. He calmly explained that he had to do them in order and would be to her soon. She just kept screaming at him. This brings up an important point- if we as family members are told our resident is acting out, screaming, going in other’s rooms, etc. we need to take responsibility for these actions and either get meds adjusted or move them to a higher care/memory care unit. This facility is Assisted Living and they go way beyond what they have to do to make the residents happy and safe. Another attack that Wendy B made was against our nurse who is the hardest working, kindest person I have met. I have seen her working hours and hours on paperwork, medications, vaccination clinics, and attending to her many residents who love her. The unkind remark about her being on social media was laughable, I am there several times a week and always stop in for a visit with the nurse. I can’t imagine her being on social media- maybe Wendy B saw this during the nurse’s lunch or her break. I really wonder how she even knew this about the nurse especially enough to comment that her social media was “immature.” One time when we were late getting transferred back to Brookdale from Rehab, the nurse stayed with us several hours that evening to complete all the intake and to make sure his meds were all transferred. Brookdale’s management amazes me. The Director is hard-working, kind, and caring. The new Activity Director has added such joy and enthusiasm to the group. I am thankful everyday that my husband has the privilege of being at home at Brookdale Richland Hills. When you are making the decision about placement of a loved one, go visit the facility several times and see the residents. At Brookdale you will see happy, comfortable, safe residents. My original review: Making the decision to place a loved one in a care facility is one of the hardest decisions one can face. I visited nine facilities until I entered Brookdale, Richland Hills, and felt immediately at home. As we made this transition, every question or challenge we had was answered by the staff with kindness and a solution. The one thing I never considered was how much my husband would improve. He has now been here for a year, and has such good friends who look after each other. The happiness and friendships he has developed at Brookdale have enhanced his life so much. The staff is so kind and caring. I do not know what we would do without them.

In the 2 yrs my mom was in MC, they went through 3 directors & 2 activity directors. I saw multiple nurses come and go...I would see them start with enthusiasm to make changes and then defeat when they could not. I would get my hopes up just to be let down. It was fine at first, but went downhill quickly. I was told during the tour, they offered fine dining (table cloth, napkins and a center piece on the table). At one point the fine dining stopped and they went approximately 6 mths w/o even a napkin to wipe their mouth. Residents were spilling food on their clothes and wiping their mouths on their sleeves. I was told they would be given paper napkins, but that didn't happen either. I was told each residents clothes would be washed separately, but that was not always the case. I found a pair of my mom's black pants in her closet with 3 pairs of black pants that weren't hers. They looked like they had all been washed with a white, fuzzy blanket. I was told they had the "required" # of caregivers on staff, but the "required" # never felt like enough. I don't know if the issue is with corporate or the facility itself, but I felt like no one wanted to make things better. One thing I especially didn't like is MC and AL are in separate bldgs and the director's office is in AL. I want to add that one of the Google reviews was written by an employee.

We really wanted to love Brookdale RH! And the first 6 weeks, we did! Then the honeymoon ended and the REAL Brookdale showed up. From questioning the business/managment structure of Brookdale in general, to their lack of compassion, little to no genuine kindness, ALWAYS under staffed, a nurse that would rather sit at her desk and focus on her disgusting and quite immature social media, to staff that complains non-stop, to refusing to provide the services we were paying for such as escorting our mom to and from meals and to all activities. Oh, and two BIGGIES: not dispensing mom’s meds and not feeding our mom on more than one occasion. And, even though they all knew our family used the cameras in mom’s room, we have a lot of footage, it didn’t seem to change their irresponsible, unprofessional way of handling their business or their residents! So much more I could say but… We’re not sure who is actually running that community but it’s definitely not the management. Beware! It’s not what you see in the beginning!
