With memory care, our specially designed environments and associates are here to help seniors living with cognitive challenges live their very best lives. Residents partake in a daily path of engagement, with programs and gentle activities designed specifically for them. Our goal is to allow them the opportunity to work on cognitive abilities while nurturing their passions and allowing them to explore hobbies. Our kitchen serves delicious and nutritionally balanced meals three times a day. The staff is also on-site to handle housekeeping, home maintenance, bathing, as well as personal care needs and dining assistance.
Our community is warm and inviting, with natural light beaming in. The floors are easy to navigate, with plenty of areas for your loved one to relax in, like our fireside living room, cozy sitting areas and vegetation-lined deck. We also feature an on-site beauty/barber shop, postal service, and greenhouse. Our apartments feature ample living space, storage and private bathrooms. Building entrances and exits are monitored and secured, and you can take comfort in knowing that our staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency.
With an endless array of activities, your loved one will live an enriched and stimulating life. Our residents enjoy starting their mornings with a gentle fitness class, trivia games, movie nights, and music programs. There are weekly devotional services and holiday-themed events to partake in as well.

My brother’s primary caregiver (our sister-in-law) died unexpectedly while he was in hospice care. My sister and I had to find a place immediately to move him so that we could have him close to us. Wendy Owens (Executive Director) and Andrea Cox (Marketing & Sales) led us through this transition with compassion, reasoning, and efficiency. My sister and I could have never accomplished this on our own. My brother has made a amazing comeback! Thanks to the excellent care at Brookdale. he is no longer receiving hospice care and is on a walker and out of a wheelchair. We are so grateful for our experience with Brookdale.

My Mother-in-law has lived at Brookdale Mt Vernon for almost two months. She needs a lot of hands on care. All of the staff have been so good to her. They have shown her love and kindness and have helped make her welcome in her new home.

What a beautiful community. I have a friend that lives here. I'm always welcomed when I'm come into the community the lady at the front desk name is Angie she is very sweet. The director of the community Wendy always says hello and ask how I'm doing. The activity director Marlene is amazing with the residents when I have visited my friend and the residents are engaged and enjoying themselves during activities. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The facility smells good and looks clean as well. I've not tasted the food but its smells amazing when the cook is making meals. I can't wait to go back and visit again.

This is a wonderful community. The residents were doing activities and seemed to be having fun. The staff were interacting with the residents and the management staff that I met were very helpful and answered all my questions. The executive director, business manager and sales person made me feel welcome and made me hesitate in choosing this community.
