Overview

Searching for the right memory care community for a loved one living with Alzheimer’s or dementia can be challenging, but we can help. At Brookdale Grand Blanc, our memory care program is rooted in a person-centered approach that focuses on strengthening your loved one's current skills, preserving a sense of identity, and promoting a sense of belonging. Located in Holly, Michigan, you'll find our lively community full of seniors and attentive, specialty-trained care staff.

Our community was built with safety in mind from the ground up with secure spaces for your loved one to enjoy, like our on-site courtyard garden, woodworking shop, salon, library, and more. And for your peace of mind, we also have care staff on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency.

Each day, your loved one will be guided with a structured daily path of engagement that is filled with a minimum of six activities to strengthen cognitive, physical, and social skills. This includes activities like clustered group discussions, art therapy, and walking groups. Additionally, your loved one will have the option to participate in as many group events as they'd like, such as:

  • Yoga classes

  • Coffee hours

  • Bingo games

  • Karaoke jams

  • Happy hours

  • Movie matinees

And, of course, our campus did not skip out on the home-like comforts. You'll be able to choose between several apartment floor plan options, so you can choose one that best suits your loved one's needs and preferences. No matter what floor plan you choose, your loved one's apartment will be outfitted with cozy carpeting, a private bathroom, and windows that let in plenty of natural light—plus an emergency response system for better peace of mind.

When it comes to your loved one's care plan, everything is customized based on their needs. Our care staff is ready to help with tasks like grooming, dressing, medication management, moving around on campus, and dining assistance when needed. And, of course, we're here to provide gentle guidance and reminders every step of the way.

Have had a family member in here for 5 months - she has been injured several times - the latest being a broken finger, and gone to emergency room with very little information on how it happened. We have yet to speak to the doctor at the facility after many attempts to have him call us about our mothers care and medications. Employees seem nice and friendly, but I have concerns and not sure what to do about it.

We put my father in law in Brookedale’s care after visiting a 1/2 dozen other memory care facilities. At first we didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, But not even living there less then a year had to be moved due to their neglect. My father in law has dementia but physically is or was very fit and after him being there we noticed his head was always down and when we mentioned it he was supposed to receive physical therapy, we still don’t know if he did or didn’t. We also had nothing but issues with billing and added unexpected fees honestly BEWARE! I will add when something is brought up by a family members of the resident don’t expect much Heather V. Was extremely impersonal Arrogant women in her position.

Both my parents were in Brookdale for 2 1/2 years. At first, my dad asked me if they were at a resort.(so cute) Dementia is such a hard, sad, painful and long disease. I could make this a very long post with all the stories however since they have both recently passed I will leave this: Brookdale is clean first and foremost. They took the best care of my parents and they were safe. They loved my mom and dad and my parents loved them. In the end, i was completely satisfied with their professionalism, commitment to care and love for my parents and our family. The caregivers are angels 💜

Brookdale is the most horrible place in my opinion. My mother was there 3 weeks total in memory care, left with a black eye from a supposed fall, non ambulatory and drop head syndrome. Our family was there often. They were switching up her meds without informing the family and we were not called about the so called fall that caused the black eye. They sent her out to the hospital after they messed her up and the nurse Lisa lied all over the place to the staff at the hospital about my mother. I thank God that she is walking again. She still has drophead syndrome but not as bad. This is our family personal experience with Brookdale. If I could rate them any lower I would. They do not deserve a 1 star in my opinion.
