My Mom has lived at Brookdale Georgetown since February 2018 and during that time has been under the watchful eye of a very caring and attentive staff. In looking for the right place for my mom, Brookdale stood out because it has a unique attribute. It's size. It's not a multi-level cavernous building with endless long hallways and potential elevator issues. Brookdale Georgetown is a one story building with an open floor plan that residents can easily segue through from room to room. Better yet, be closely monitored by staff due to its openness. I found this appealing since my mother has dementia. When Mom moved there initially there were interior construction projects underway and staff changes. I observed over time positive transformations esthetically and operationally and felt confident in the direction Brookdale was heading. From a staffing standpoint, a higher standard is being implemented across the board. This is noticeably evident in the quality employees hired and those that are retained. I understand the next big project on the drawing board is an improved doorbell/intercom system. Once that technology issue is brought up to speed, it will be stellar. But until then I give 4 stars instead of 5. Meanwhile I would recommend Brookdale Georgetown to any one looking for an assisted living residency that provides a small and intimate environment and exceptionally caring staff.

I have known the executive director, Lori Lee, professionally for many years and I have worked in the industry for over 10 years. So when I needed to transfer my father to a budget friendly assisted living that provided great care, I looked no further than Brookdale Georgetown. Lori Lee picked my father up from his previous assisted living to spend the morning at Brookdale Georgetown. She introduced him to residents she felt would be potential friends with him, showed him the apartment we were considering, and served him lunch. He was sold. Lori Lee and her staff even moved my father and his belongings to Brookdale Georgetown saving us time and money. The staff take great care of the residents and really take the time to get to know each one of them. I have heard a number of the staff say 'I treat the residents like they are my family'. My husband and I work full time so it can be very challenging taking a few hours off to take my father to necessary doctor's appointments. The extra service that allows the activities director, Cynthia , to not only transport my father to doctor's appointments, but also stay with him throughout the appointment, is well worth the nominal cost. Cynthia also goes above and beyond by communicating with us the outcome of the appointment and when the next one is. She also makes the appointment enjoyable for my father by taking him out to eat afterwards (his favorite). Lori Lee, Regina, and Cynthia communicate very well and often with me via email/text/phone calls whenever there is something my father needs, they are concerned about, or to share updates about his care. They are very responsive to emails and quick to act when I report a concern or have a question. Our family cannot express enough how grateful we are for Lori Lee and her remarkable team. Brookdale Georgetown IS my father's forever home.

Haven't moved her in yet, but so far I love what I see and everyone on staff in Georgetown have been wonderful to me and my mother. Shout out to Mariel Baluja, Janice and Cynthia too! Really, All the staff I've met thus far have expressed their enthusiasm about working there and appear to truly enjoy what they do and when you mix that attitude with their location and the cozy most homey environment.. I'm pretty confident my mother with dementia will do just fine here. On my 3rd visit, I went for lunch yesterday at Brookdale, with my mother and the food was as I expected it to be really.. not spicy, easy to eat and appropriately proportioned. They got to choose what they wanted from the menu provided (given their ability to do so). I have to say I like that there are different levels of aging "neighbors" in the community, the mindful assist and that is heartwarming. I have had the guided tour and the on-my-own tour (walked my mother around the community) and never once had anything cause me to raise an eyebrow. Looking forward to her move-in next week! I gave them a 4 today because, I too am not impressed with the doorbell system and would like to see a better system implemented.

The Brookdale in Georgetown is small and has a down home feel to it which is comforting. The staff works hard at the basic living needs. Unfortunately, they are still in strict covid restrictions so there is limited activities and no outings at all. As everyone knows, mental and emotional well being is as important as a roof over your head and food in their belly. The external services that come in to provide healthcare services are a challenge to communicate with. There are so many different providers, therefore, staff members so you are constantly trying to talk to someone new and the systems and information are not effectively shared. Everyone is on a different page. That is confusing for the family member.
