The second floor is surprisingly outstanding. Cleanliness is important here. The protein portions at dinner are amazing supper tender. The nursing, the therapists and nurse assistants have been excellent; attentive and compassionate. Highly recommend Brookdale Galleria skilled nursing facility.

My client and I were visiting with a friend for dinner. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. I pray she decides to move there. We will visit her. Thank you Thomas and the dining staff for a delightful evening.

ABSOLUTELY under no circumstances, should you leave a loved one under the care of Brookdale in the Galleria. Now that my father is gone, I'm learning that they are being sued for neglect, understaffing, and poor care. Simply google "Why is Brookdale being sued?" I plan on reporting them to the State as well but essentially they kept my Dad as if it were a Covid lockdown. They wouldn't give us a release date claiming he wasn't strong enough. The social worker Bajalang Baldeh is the individual making these decisions for some reason and the entire time we knew this was a Medicare billing game. I told her we wanted him at home where we would pay for private care but she just kept acting like he couldn't be released and that when she deemed the time was right, we could do private care at home. I ultimately suspected this was to keep him as long as Medicare would pay for this substandard facility because Medicare is not going to let a REAL skilled nursing facility like Encompass or TIRR keep a patient for weeks on end, especially when they aren't doing much to help the patient get better, let alone not bathing or cleaning his catheter. So my father had a doctor's appointment today and his catheter had never been cleaned and was infected with pus, and his outside urologist upon full medical exam said my father hadn't been bathed in at least a week. There are TOO many really good options in Houston, if you have to resort to a facility to care for your your parent or grandparent. Do not go anywhere near this one! Do not let the fact that it is in the Galleria and has a decent appearance upon entry fool you. There is a reason this place is being sued.

My grandmother lived at Brookdale Galleria for many years and always spoke highly of the staff and facility, so I was glad to see that same quality firsthand on my recent tour. The staff member I met with was welcoming and knowledgeable, and took real time to answer my questions. The community feels active, clean, and well-run, with a strong focus on safety, social connection, and residents' quality of life.
