If you're ready to turn your retirement dreams into reality, come join us at Brookdale Foundation House. Located in Federal Way, Washington, our senior living community is filled with vibrant, spirited seniors ready to tackle each day with gusto. Whether you live an independent lifestyle or need help with daily tasks, our campus offers three levels of customized care to meet your needs: independent living, assisted living, and memory care.

The beauty of life at Brookdale is that you wake up with plenty of choices for how to spend your day. Want to start your morning with a cup of coffee in our courtyard and then indulge your creative side in our arts and crafts studio? Done. Feel like kickstarting your day with an energizing group fitness class and then enjoying social time in the game room or on-site pub? You can do that, too. With an array of resort-style amenities and a full events calendar, there's no shortage of exciting things to do right on campus.

And when it's time to rest and recharge at the end of the day, you'll have your own personal apartment. With several floor plans to choose from, from studios to two-bedroom apartments complete with a garage, you'll have no problem selecting an apartment that best suits your needs and preferences. Regardless of the floor plan you choose, each apartment comes equipped with a private bathroom, kitchen, and windows that let in plenty of natural light.

Since all care plans are customized to your needs, they are also flexible as your needs change over time. If you currently live an independent lifestyle and simply want to enjoy perks like housekeeping and restaurant-style dining, our independent living community may be a great fit. If you need help with little tasks like grooming, dressing, or medication management, then our assisted living community may be for you.

For seniors with Alzheimer's and dementia, our memory care program provides gentle guidance and a structured daily path of engagement designed to strengthen physical, cognitive, and social skills. This path includes a minimum of six daily activities, such as clustered group discussions, art therapy, morning mental workouts, and walking groups.

We also understand how important safety is for you and your loved ones, which is why we have care staff on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to any emergencies.

Please do not turn to Brookdale Foundation House for help with your loved ones. They are in the business of making money. Period. When we first inquired here, they seemed so nice and accommodating, that is UNTIL they found out we were on a budget and asked about Medicaid programs. Where at first they were willing to negotiate on rent, second-person fees, community fee, etc., the minute they found out we were not wealthy, they changed completely. The answer to every question we asked was "no," "no," "no," and they weren't so nice about it. They wanted to charge my parents nearly $7000/month in rent for a barely 600 square-foot one-bedroom apartment, a $4500 (non-refundable) community fee, and nearly $6000/month in care costs for just ONE of my parents. If you have done any research on assisted living, you will know that this exploitative and outrageous! I believe they did this to us because they knew we were in a time-crunch to find help and only wanted our money. Do yourself a favor if you are looking for assisted living in the area and skip Brookdale Foundation House altogether. If your loved ones need fairly little assistance with ADL's, go to Village Green. If your loved ones need more intensive assistance, go to GenCare. I eventually got my parents into assisted living at less than HALF of what Brookdale wanted to charge us. The place we landed has staff who are much friendlier, the rooms are bigger, and the care costs are less than a THIRD of what Brookdale quoted us.

Foundation House housekeeers are totally awesome; they're polite. Everyone who works here and lives here make me feel like family. We are just like a big family. As a resident here I like to volunteer my time in helping everyone, especially in memory care.

We looked at over 20+ facilities before going with Brookdale Foundation House. We moved our mother into Memory care and it has been a great experience from the very beginning. We meet with Katie (sales/marketing) who gave us a tour and answered all of our questions. Katie went above and beyond to make the transition smooth and stress free. It’s has been a couple months since our mother has been at Brookdale and we visit often. The nurses, activities coordinator, CNA’s, and front desk personnel have continued to be amazing. If you are reading this review, you are looking to place your loved one in a caring facility. Reach out to Katie, take a tour and feel confident that this staff is AMAZING!! Thanks Katie! The Chatterson Family.
