My mother has been living in Brookdale College Place for about 5 years and she absolutely loves it! She has the structure, support, and social opportunities that she needs to thrive. Their food is outstanding, so I eat there often when I come to visit. Looking back, I was concerned that she would not be happy there and want to return to her home which was not really an option, mostly due to safety. However, she now admits that she probably should have moved there sooner, and thanks me often for giving her a nudge and making it happen.

Brookdale staff are rockstars!! Dallas is friendly and truly cares about all the residents. She made the process for my family very easy and made us feel so comfortable with our choice to choose Brookdale. I cannot day enough good things about her and the rest of the staff.

My mother has lived at Brookdale for 4 year. In the last year I have become less and less happy with her care. She is supposed to be toiletted 4 times a day because of incontinence. This last Tuesday when I arrived at 3 pm she was laying in her recliner wearing a pair of depends and covered loosely with a small fleece throw. When I asked why she had no clothes on. None of the staff seemed to know. When the blanket was removed to get her dressed. Everything was urine soaked, her depends, 2 pads under her and her cloth recliner. Being on a toileting schedule she should have been pottied after lunch. This isn’t the first time I have found her in that condition. One time she was transported from Brookdale by Dial-a-ride to an appointment they knew about. When she arrived at her appointment her depends was dripping wet and soiled with fecal matter. When the Dial-a-ride driver returned to pick her up he said she was like that when he picked her up from Brookdale. (Don’t ask me why he didn’t tell someone instead of transporting her!) Which brings us to today, currently I am sitting with my mom in the ER. She was given a Rx for an antibiotic on the 16th but Brookdale says it wasn’t signed by the Dr. It was written on the 16th (today is the 26th) so I really don’t understand why 10 days later they weren’t able to get it signed. So Brookdale called me this afternoon saying that my mom is uncooperative, combative and confused because of her UTI. She needs to go out today, Sunday, so she can get started on antibiotic that she should have already been taking. I am looking for a new facility to move her to.

My mother has been at Brookdale college place for 33 days. The billing and all the services which we were told she would get routinely when we discussed moving her in this facility have all been a disaster. I do not recommend this facility. They cannot provide the services they said and say they will complete weekly and daily.
