Overview

Because nothing says home like cozy, comfortable spaces and people who care. If you and your family are looking for a memory care community, we can help.  Located near Providence Park and Pilot Butte Park, Brookdale Bend offers Alzheimer’s and dementia care to seniors and their families from Bend and other surrounding towns in the Deschutes County region of central Oregon.

Our care is rooted in a person-centered approach. That means we help our residents find a sense of belonging and purpose while also helping them preserve who they are. For people living with dementia, small moments can have a big purpose. Our residents stay engaged with a gentle daily structure of planned activities to help them maintain their abilities and encourage the use of their current skills. Brain games, art classes and music programs are just a few of the ways our residents enjoy their days.

Our community is designed with dementia-friendly features to promote safety and security for our residents. Our programing creates a routine that offers a sense of accomplishment for those living with dementia. Working in small cluster groups, each resident is surrounded by others with the same cognitive abilities, giving them a feeling of fitting in. Activities include a morning cognitive workout with discussions, physical fitness and movement classes like our B-Fit program and walking programs.

Amei and her team at Brookdale went out of their way to assist with my brother Bill who was a unique case as he was only 58 when he went to Brookdale. Not only was he the youngest person there, he needed a lot of care after suffering 2 sets of strokes. They made him feel very welcome and were super attentive to his constantly, changing needs. The staff was kind, cheerful and attentive. Thank you Brookdale.

My wife, Mary has been at Brookdale Bend for 6 months now. All the people I've met there, from the Executive Director and the Health and Wellness Director to the person who cleans her room, are very sincere, caring individuals. I have witnessed many incidences of care givers giving special attention to individual residents who needed it for some reason. The whole atmosphere in the facility is light hearted and sincere. If anyone needs this type of care, I can highly recommend Brookdale Bend. Dale

Brookdale of Bend is AMAZING! As a caregiver with an in-home agency, I had the privilege of caring for a resident there. The very first time I walked through the doors, I fell in love with the beautiful village-style design at the entrance. It immediately sets the tone for the warmth and welcoming atmosphere throughout the entire community. I would sit with my client during meals, and I have to say, the food was consistently delicious and beautifully presented. You can tell the chef truly puts heart and care into every meal. Speaking of heart, the staff—especially on the Clare Bridge side, where my client lived—put their hearts into their work every single day. Even as an outsider, I could see and feel the joy, compassion, and genuine dedication they bring to the residents. The residents are happy, engaged, and offered some truly wonderful activities. One of my favorite things was how each day began with a morning gathering that included the Pledge of Allegiance, the Lord's Prayer, daily news, and fun conversations to start the day on a positive note. They even have ducks and chickens! Be sure to check out their Facebook page to see all the creative and meaningful activities Abbie organizes with the residents. Honestly, this is one of the best care communities I have ever visited. In fact, I miss being there since my client moved away, and I've even considered applying to work there myself. A huge shout-out to the entire Brookdale team. The difference you make in the lives of your residents is evident in everything you do. Thank you for your compassion, dedication, and love. I miss you all—and the residents—very much. 🤍

Brookdale Memory Care has been a true gift to our family and mom in an excruciatingly difficult time. Mom's dementia had been well managed at home and she was very happy until that first, major stroke, then everything changed. We quickly researched and visited every memory care in the Bend area and after meeting Tina at intake, BD stood out as the top choice by far, at any price; it had the right vibe for us. Amei, the Executive Director, is high energy and deeply committed to both her team and the residents. I won't be able to name them all, but mom went from "why am I here?" and "I want to go home!" to making friends and later calling BD her home after just a month or two with the help of her caregivers -- to name just a few: Ryan, Autumn, Bekkah, Lori, Amanda, Stuart, Abbey and Tammy, the head nurse, were all game changers through their compassionate care. The entire staff works very hard; this is a tough job and best of all, they truly strive to connect with the residents on their respective levels in a caring, personal way and often with humor. The human connection and care are the number one priority for all and it shows. Activities were very good -- there could always be more, but each were well matched to her interests, even if she initially had to be coaxed into participating. Mom found her "new rhythm" and was happy again! Unfortunately, the strokes continued, so after 8 months she has moved on to her "Forever Home" and will be deeply missed by her family--and her family will miss the lovely, caring people of Brookdale Bend. We thank each and every one of you for helping mom and her family through this challenging time---we would have been lost without you!
