Overview
Because nothing says home like cozy, comfortable spaces and people who care. If you and your family are looking for a memory care community, we can help. Located near Providence Park and Pilot Butte Park, Brookdale Bend offers Alzheimer’s and dementia care to seniors and their families from Bend and other surrounding towns in the Deschutes County region of central Oregon.
Our care is rooted in a person-centered approach. That means we help our residents find a sense of belonging and purpose while also helping them preserve who they are. For people living with dementia, small moments can have a big purpose. Our residents stay engaged with a gentle daily structure of planned activities to help them maintain their abilities and encourage the use of their current skills. Brain games, art classes and music programs are just a few of the ways our residents enjoy their days.
Our community is designed with dementia-friendly features to promote safety and security for our residents. Our programing creates a routine that offers a sense of accomplishment for those living with dementia. Working in small cluster groups, each resident is surrounded by others with the same cognitive abilities, giving them a feeling of fitting in. Activities include a morning cognitive workout with discussions, physical fitness and movement classes like our B-Fit program and walking programs.

Brookdale Bend Reviews

After much debate within the family we decided it was time to place my wife Alice in a Memory Care facility. I reviewed 8 facilities in Bend, OR and personally visited 5 of them. Brookdale stood out as reasonably priced, properly staffed with attentive individuals, warm private rooms, nutritious food, a full schedule of resident activities with numerous field trips and a caring place for Alice. After her placement my great impression remained and increased as I worked more closely with facility's management and staff. I'd highly recommend Brookdale to those with a family member needing help in life's later year's challenges.

My father was in memory care at Brookdale Bend facility. Initially his care was good and what one would expect but then after a few months began to deteriorate. We would frequently find his restroom and bedroom filthy with urine and dried fecal material. His clothes, bed linens, shoes and other items were frequently missing. When we tried to address some of these various problems with the executive director, she would make excuses like “I thought you were donating those” and she was not helpful in solving the other issues with the cleanliness and the staff. She ultimately retaliated by redoing my father’s care plan and increasing his monthly rate. At this point I felt we could no longer address our father’s care without retaliation from the executive director by increasing his charges. I was left with no other choice than to move my father to another care facility. It is obvious to me that this organization is just out for profit and not for the well-being of their patients. I found a good resource in the Oregon State Ombudsman however you must keep good records and involve them early on as they will not go back and help with previous billing issues. They are a good resource and will advocate for patients and families that are in long term care.

We can't say enough positive about Brookdale and their team. Tina and Amei helped us work through several tough issues while relocating our mom to Brookdale. Once settled they have continued to assist getting our mom out of her room and busy with the many activities they offer. Thank you. Thank you!

I had the pleasure of seeing Amei again and meeting Tina. I was shown around and was very impressed with what I saw. I even had the pleasure of meeting a few of the residents. One of the hardest decisions to make is getting ready to place a parent.
