Care
Assisted Living
A living option for seniors or individuals who require assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, or medication management while maintaining a level of independence. Assisted living facilities offer personalized care plans and social activities that promote quality of life for their residents.
Memory Care
Memory care communities offer specialized care and support for individuals dealing with memory-related conditions, such as Alzheimer’s or dementia. These facilities are equipped with trained staff and offer engaging activities designed to promote well-being while ensuring a safe living environment.
Respite Care
Respite care is short-term or temporary care. Respite care can be provided in adult day centers, in private homes via home health agencies and in senior living communities, most often assisted living or skilled nursing facilities.

We’ve had a wonderful experience with Bickford of Gurnee. The team is caring, attentive, and truly goes above and beyond every day. Their empathy and compassion make a real difference, and it is clear they genuinely care about the residents and their families. I especially want to recognize Savannah, the family advocate, for being so kind, supportive, and easy to work with. She has been incredibly helpful and consistently shows such warmth and understanding. It’s rare to find a team that provides such good care while also making families feel heard and supported. We are very grateful for everyone at Bickford of Gurnee.

The Bickford Gurnee has come very far in the last year! The improvements in the kitchen- their new kitchen manager/cook Carlos has made sure every meal is delicious and the dining room is enjoyable- even has music playing. The activities have amped up as well, weekly trips and visitors thanks to mallory. The new director Christine is really knowledgable and helpful. Alonda is happy to help and stays on top of all the nurses and caregivers to make sure all of the residents are happy and taken care of. The new sales girl Savannah is so friendly and upbeat and spreads positivity within the whole branch. Miguel and rodney keeping up with the grounds and any issues that come up. It is really great. My grandma has lived there for 3 years and it has had ups and downs, they are continuously working to approve. Our family is not perfect but this place really is a home.

Bickford of Gurnee is a beautiful place that offers independent, assisted living and memory care. Having a loved one live at Bickford, I can say that the family owned aspect really does make a difference. Savannah and her team are loving and ready to help you on your journey.

When you pay over $5,000 a month, in my opinion, you are paying not only for care, compassion, and safety, but also for peace of mind—knowing your loved one will be treated with consistency and respect. Unfortunately, Bickford falls short in providing both peace of mind and respect. The quality of meals and the cleanliness of the dining room are subpar and completely unacceptable. They are unable to retain dining staff, leaving one person to handle cooking, serving, and cleaning—an impossible workload for a single individual. This employee is amazing, kind, and regularly called in to help, but even their dedication is not enough to compensate for the lack of support. Management refuses to be onsite on weekends, when issues are most severe, which is deeply disappointing. Despite numerous calls, written documentation, and formal complaints, nothing has improved except continued staff turnover. After six months, this experience has been extremely disappointing.
