Mom was there once before she had a dnr they ignored it and sent her out.She was not happy. The 2nd time in there was a big billing problem. The room was suppose to be 63 dollars a day for a year. Mom in for 9 months and ran out of money. We took her out last 2 weeks ago because she was out of money. It was our responsibility to contact billing to let them know she was leaving. Because the director didn't do it even though she was notified 3xs. The director said she would get her money back . Should know something at the end of last week. This week have contacted and left a message every day crickets. They owe Mom approximately 19,000 . I guess will see them in court. Today I did call the corporate office. Hopefully they do the right thing. If not see them in court.

Bickford is a wonderful facility with caring staff. They offer many activities, have a great and wide variety of food options, and are very attentive to their residents. It feels like being at home.

Update 7/2025: After calling numerous times and numerous people over the past several months with proof of the neglect and financial abuse Bickford has refused to reach back out. Since I've had my loved one home I've had so many doctors and people we know express to me how much better he's doing and he has made so much progress that their staff tried to say he wouldn't/couldn't accomplish. Please do not leave your loved one in their care. If you have any issues(even with photos and paperwork for proof), their District Director Krystyna Badoni will just brush you off unapologetically and act inconvenienced by any issues, which tells me the problem is most likely higher up. I would wait until they have staffing issues and care figured out. Negligence happening in many areas(housekeeping, personal care, safety, communication, etc) not just with my family member but others as well. There are a few staff members that truly care and make an effort whom we appreciate immensely but unfortunately they are outnumbered at the moment. This has been happening on and off for the last few years. The cost of care has increased by $2500(without change of mental status/needs) yet care supplied has decreased drastically. They send a letter out to inform us of the charges sometimes, not always. The rationale is they are hiring more staff or paying current staff more. I'm not seeing this reflected and at least one director has been fired for embezzlement yet they refuse to fix the bill and explain it away. I've been having to supplement care more than ever right now and document everything. We've been holding out through staff overhaul/changes during the last couple of years hoping things would improve as promised. It's hard to get a person with dementia resituated and feeling familiar with surroundings and we haven't found a facility open that fully fits his needs, unfortunately. Hoping things will rebuild better this time, but I would steer clear at the moment unless you have the ability and time to provide the care that's lacking yourself. I have addressed and shown proof of several ongoing issues with numerous staff and directors with no avail or consistency. Once in awhile things will begin to look up slightly but it's short-lived.
