Benedictine The Gardens is an assisted living community where residents live well and with purpose. Our campus is 25 minutes from downtown Minneapolis in beautiful Shakopee and adjacent to St. Francis Regional Medical Center. We offer assisted living, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing services.

Angela H. was very helpful on our first night checking in, reviewing all of the paperwork with us in a very thorough and professional manner. The staff was very friendly and the nurse manager was very caring and kind at discharge, going the extra mile for our family.

Working with Angela in the business office has been great! She is knowledgeable, kind and has been so helpful walking us through my mother in law’s stay at St. Gert’s in Shakopee! I’d highly recommend asking her any questions you man have about skilled nursing homes and insurance coverage!

Our Mom just loves it at Benedictine The Gardens! She enjoys all the activities offered and all of the staff is friendly and caring! They truly care about their residents and want them to love their homes!

I had knee replacement surgery and when I came here as pleasantly surprised because the food is great the staff is efficient and friendly and I thought oh this is a great place to recover but their pain management is awful! You know I had quite a serious surgery and to have to beg for pain pills everyday is ridiculous. As an example yesterday my pain meds were due at 11:30 so 11:30 I rang from them at 3:00 in the afternoon I finally received! Then I was in so much pain it was horrible and it was hard to get it under control. And then the nurse had the nerve when they brought me my pain pills he put his hand on my shoulder and said Marie I need to explain something to you You're pain pills are PRN which means you have to ask for them I cannot just bring them to you when they're due and I said that's really nice that you told me that but I have been asking since 11:30 this morning and now it's 3:00., which means I waited 3 and 1/2 hours past when they were due. This morning the nurse comes in and says Marie I'm sorry but we're out of your pain pills so we'll have to get a prescription and then they'll have to contact the pharmacy and who knows when the pharmacy will get them to you so now I'm just furious they expect me to sit here after a knee replacement without any pain pills I have been here a week and a half and it happens almost everyday I never get them on time it's really unacceptable to be treated that way okay so maybe a place doesn't have good food but I would think the priority would be pain to help patients. Very disturbed by this, also make sure when they bring you your medications whether it be pain pills or daily make sure you look in the cup and see that they have them all cuz half the time half of them will be missing and I have to ask them to please go back and get them. So this place would have got five stars if it hadnt been for the pain management.
