I would rate the physical therapy higher - four or five stars. Most nursing staff were also very good. The downside is the nurse - Richard Mastenbrook, NP who came through as the provider - took my father off a powerful medication that can causes seizures and death if you abruptly stop. Not only this, he did not consult with the family. We learned of the change to medication when we had a care conference and asked to review his medications. How irresponsible. He was also flippant when confronted. If your loved one is receiving care here - be very cautious - ask a lot of question and ask for a bi weekly medication review. Two other doctors had indicated a medication step down would take up to one year to safely accomplish - not cold turkey. They also charge a daily “single room fee” when all their rooms are single rooms. Depending on the length of stay this adds up. EDIT - thank you for offering to discuss this. This situation was reported to your staff at the time it occurred. I would suggest a better protocol for changing meds without informing the medical POA’s especially a powerful medication that has serious consequences when stopped without a long term tapering down approach. It’s also not my perspective regarding medication management - it’s what actually occureed.

Benedictine 28Apr - 25Jun2025 Due to a very negative one week experience in another TCU, I was highly skeptical of everything at Benedictine. I viewed every action as though it might be another act of neglect. It took nearly two weeks to feel safe. Through that time, every Aide, Nurse, Therapist, Cleaning Person, and Administrator made it clear they would watch over me, helping me recover my health. Kindness and empathy were the watchwords they showed me. I learned many of their names and histories. I'd been at Benedictine for about three months. In that time, I'd grown to see them as family. They cared for my wounded body and spirit. I was challenged to improve every day. I am grateful that Benedictine chooses to employ those who look at working with people in need as more than just a job. Over time, some had rough days, and I'd try to help them as much as they did me. I made a few friends there that I'll visit as my health improves. Benedictine TCU is a welcoming and a pay it forward facility. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need. Kip N.

This was my first experience being away from home for any length of time since I retired and our children have grown up. The description of services describe Harmony, hospitality, respect and commitment to those that are in their care, and assist with support, pray and have lead to compassion for Christ as our bodies grow older. This was an experience which I have been there for my Family of origin, but never thought of it happening to me. I was raised Catholic, and I felt at peace as I got to experience and learn from others by where they had come from and It was truly another life lesson, and made life interesting. The teams of RNs and CNAs are welcoming and they do all they can to understand . Laura Anderson from the Wellness Center earns honorable mention for being a strong advocate encouraging me to be social and scheduling time with multiple activities. My knee is healing from the break and PT has done a great job teaching safetyThank you,
