Benchmark at Newtown Reviews

I would give this place zero stars if I could. My experience with Benchmark at Newtown has been extremely disappointing. Some of the aides are often rude and dismissive, speaking to residents in a way that feels impatient and disrespectful. No one deserves to be treated like they’re a burden, especially in a place that’s supposed to provide care and comfort. Some of the staff are attentive and go above and beyond, it's a mixed bag. What’s even more concerning is the response time when residents need help. When someone uses their pendant to call for assistance, it can take an unreasonably long time for anyone to respond — and in some cases, no one shows up at all. That is completely unacceptable in a facility responsible for the safety and well-being of seniors. Families trust assisted living homes to provide reliable, compassionate care. Unfortunately, that has not been the case here. I would strongly urge others to look elsewhere before placing a loved one in this facility.

After looking at many assisted living and memory care facilities for my in-laws, we are SO happy we chose Church Hill Village. They are the friendliest, kindest, attentive and most patient staff we could have ever hoped for. We loved the look and feel right from the start and they keep it very well maintained (every time we go for a visit it’s nice and clean and smells great!). Our folks are so happy there and we are relieved knowing they are safe and thrilled now that we know the wonderful staff: Joanne, Rosemary, Shantiza, Michelle, Wendy, Heidi, the amazing aides and everyone we’ve met, have been incredible and truly feel like family - who are now taking great care of our family :) We highly recommend them and give them 5 stars all the way!

My folks have been there for a few months and all they talk about is Church Hill Village. From the delicious meals, the extraordinary care they receive, the entertainment and activities, they always sound so busy when I call. I can't tell you how happy and relieved I am knowing my parents are being cared for at that level. My wife and I visited 6-7 local Senior Facilities in the area (so many free cakes and pies on the tours, you'll see), and Church Hill Village hands down was the best of the best. At every turn, the facility is kept sparkling clean, all the staff are smiling and everyone makes you feel like family. Joanne and Rosemary to name a few are ROCKSTARS!! Thank you so much for taking care of my two loving parents.

About a year ago it became apparent that my parents could no longer live independently in their own home. In researching options our priorities were to keep them together, and keep their two small dogs with them. Of all the facilities we visited Churchill was the most welcoming and accommodating of their needs. The dogs have been welcomed and are very much part of the community. As Dads needs increased the staff adjusted and made sure he and Mom had all the support necessary. The maintenance department has been stellar. Mom enjoys the recreational activities and having physical therapy available on site is a nice perk. Mom is still able to be part of her beloved Newtown community. While of course she would prefer to be in her own home, Mom tells people that. "If it has to be, this is the place to be."
