Belmont Village Senior Living Buffalo Grove Reviews

I found Belmont Village of Buffalo Grove to be a very welcoming place. The residents are unusually nice and caring toward each other. The atmosphere really resembles a community—it is a community. When someone new walks in, the residents notice, ask about them, introduce themselves, and genuinely welcome the person. While walking on one of the floors, I noticed a bulletin board with a sheet of paper listing everyone’s name and birthday. A resident on that floor created it herself. The residents socialize in a way that reminded me of a fun sleep-away camp. One resident introduced me to her best friends and told me about another resident—much older—who plays a mother figure to some. I enjoy visiting this facility and meeting people of diverse cultures who are friends with one another. Some residents are from China, some from India, some from Poland, and many other countries. People of different faiths talk together and are even best friends. I learned that the facility offers Sabbath services every other Friday for those who want to attend. They also have many activities to keep residents engaged. One resident shared how much she enjoys the art activity. The facility even arranges outings to restaurants and other places. One of the most meaningful things I witnessed was a multi-cultural memorial service they held for residents who had passed away. The facility itself is beautiful. To me, it felt like walking into a hotel. As I entered, I saw a gorgeous black piano—an electric piano that sometimes plays music on its own, and sometimes someone will sit down and play. Residents say they enjoy the music. So far, I have never heard anything negative said about this facility. One resident told me that what she loves most is the “family feeling.” She said that some places can have cliques—but not here. I’ve also met a few staff members, and the friendly relationships between staff and residents stood out to me. Again, it reminded me of the friendship and closeness you might feel at a really good summer camp. Overall, this facility is a very special place with very special people. That’s why I marked it 5 stars. If I could rate it higher, I would. I can honestly see how the years spent living in this facility could become some of the happiest years of a person’s life.

I had a wonderful time today touring the facility with Jodi Weinberg! She made me feel welcomed and was amazing at describing the services offered at Belmont Village. If you or someone you know is looking at assisted living options for their loved ones, reach out to Jodi Weinberg for a tour, you won’t regret it!

My mother spent three years in this facility. Belmont Village does not cater to residents who have children out-of-state. Not only are the staff hard to get ahold of for information, when you do speak with someone, they do not understand your frustration. A relative fears for their parent, and the staff does not understand what the grief is about. They expect you to be pleasant and knowledgable at all times. They do not explain, and they are very abrupt. Although I asked repeatedly to be informed of my mother's progress, they continually left me "out of the loop." Belmont Village is not a caring place at all, certainly not for a relative that traveled every month to see her mother.

I normally do not write reviews, but because of the care my mother and mother-in-law have received over the past 4 years at Belmont Village Buffalo Grove, I wanted to share my experience with anyone looking to make this difficult decision. Our family has found consistently, that all of the staff is kind, compassionate, and respectful to each and every resident and family member. They know everyone's name and always greet you with a smile. The facility is always clean and cheerful, the food is good and there are many activities that the staff encourage the residents to participate in. The residents are well cared for and the PALS always acknowledge and talk with the residents - with a smile. As in any situation, there are difficult times, but I've found the administration to be receptive to feedback. Thank you Belmont for being a great option for residential senior care and for helping our aging population, age with dignity.
