Azalea Park

My mom was a resident up until she passed last year. She was so happy when the little salon opened on her floor! I would speak with her weekly and she would always tell me about her manicure or trim. I remained in contact with some of her friends and was told that little salon and the proprietor are being evicted! So sad especially for the clients that have a hard time getting around like my mom. It was really the only reason she stayed there. I would give 5 stars if I knew Niki was still in her little spot doing what she loved and helping lonely people feel beautiful.

I’m concerned that there is no security whatsoever. Anyone could walk in at any time day or night. No one is ever in the office. The back of the building is very dark at night with no lighting. Very concerning. For what is charged for rent, this is unacceptable. As for the food, my mother supplements with frozen dinners & protein shakes. I routinely come & clean her apartment. No dusting or wiping down surfaces.

I've owned a salon on the third floor at Azalea Park for over two yeas. I have went over and beyound for these residents taking them to the store, vet, and doctors apt. Sometimes just to lunch because they needed to get out. I LOVE THEM, there's nothing I wouldnt do for any of them. But today without notice I was served with 30 day eviction notice. NO REASON GIVEN! I've paid my rent on time for 2 years never late, Dont break rules. I have called bingo and many other things to help when short staffed all with out pay. Two weeks ago the new GM collected and destroyed my personal property then threw it into the trash. When I asked why she did that she said It was considered soliciting but I could hand them out. Then I asked why not talk to me and give them back she then stated she didn't have time to talk about it. I served her with an invoice for 75.00 it has not been paid to date. More information and post to come........... Update: I just spoke with Katrina Flanigan a representative from Discovery Senior Living. She said she's Dawn's boss. She explained they are evicting me because there gossip in my shop about dawn. When I asked for her bosses number she said "It's just going to be rerouted back to me." When I asked for the actual corporate phone number she said she wasn't allowed to give it out. She also stated she doesn't know why I want to stay in such a hostel environment Dawn's making it hostel. I do not recommend this place not to work at or live.

My mom has been the hair dresser in this communityfor 2 years, and today, without any notice or reason given; the new manager Dawn hands her and eviction notice with no reasoning other than "because they can". I have seen her go above and beyond for the residents, from helping them clean themselves up after an "accident" to inviting them to holidays. And even helping them in their last days. This poor excuse for a manager is forcing her out because of a personal vendetta and I would not recommendthis communityto anyone either as a residence or a place of employment.
