Alto Walden Woods Reviews

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this assisted living and memory care facility. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were treated like family. The staff is incredibly kind, compassionate, and attentive, and it’s obvious that they truly care about every resident. I had a family member in the memory care unit, and knowing they were safe, respected, and genuinely cared for gave our family so much peace of mind. The caregivers were patient, loving, and always took the time to make sure my loved one was comfortable and happy. They treated them with dignity and kindness every single day. The facility is clean, welcoming, and well-maintained, and the activities and engagement provided for the residents are wonderful. The communication from the staff was excellent, and they always kept our family informed and answered any questions we had.

If I could give Alto at Walden Woods 0 stars, I absolutely would. This facility should honestly be called the “Roach Motel” because the conditions are disgusting and unacceptable for the elderly residents who live there. The rooms are dirty, moldy, and full of cockroaches running in and out like it’s normal. Residents in memory care are constantly being neglected, left sitting wet for long periods of time while workers sit behind the cameras vaping instead of actually watching and caring for the residents the way they are supposed to. The facility is always short staffed, especially in memory care where only 1–2 workers are expected to care for over 20 residents at a time, and half of those residents are wheelchair-bound and completely dependent on staff for everything. Showers barely get done, medications are never administered correctly, and basic care is constantly overlooked. Management clearly plays favorites with employees and talks down to residents instead of treating them with dignity and respect. The kitchen staff is extremely unsanitary and often handles food without gloves, which is completely unacceptable in any healthcare environment. It feels like management only cares about filling rooms and making money rather than the wellbeing of the residents or the workers who are struggling every day under impossible conditions. Families trust this place to care for their loved ones, but the neglect, poor hygiene, lack of staffing, and unprofessional behavior make it one of the worst assisted living and memory care facilities imaginable. Please don’t let your family come here . Ps- THIS IS NOT A FAMILY MEMBER , DO NOT ASSUME. DO BETTER.

I was devastated when my husband of 42 years was diagnosed with Alzheimers. I found The Canopy at Walden Woods now Alto after touring 11 other facilities. The Canopy was clean and new. What impressed me most was the loving, attentive care providers. The management and staff treated Tom like family. I always felt safe with Tom at the Canopy. He received wonderful care. I had a place where I felt I could talk with anyone and receive caring advice. It helped me for Tom to live at the Canopy. Janet McDonald, Florida Bar # 0286060
