We moved into Atria G. O. In January, 2021. Posted 04/20/2025. My wife of 60+ years needed assisted living. I am very satisfied with the many life & health affirming planned activities available to all residents. Ditto for the social environment of the fellow residents, community, where, with minimal effort, one can easily find interesting & compatible, mutually supportive people with whom you can find fellow sports enthusiasts, enduring friendships, poker & mahjong partners, fellow intellectuals, and book club, writers’ workshop, prayer meetings, twice daily award winning movies, a beautifully landscaped park and grounds on the property, dedicated caregivers serving our needs whether you’re an independent resident or need assisted living or the extra attention & support provided in the memory care unit, all on the same property. The whole property is located in a beautiful part of Thousand Oaks, across from the Civic entertainment and administrative center, and a very pleasant, well maintained residential neighborhood. There are regular outings and field trips to local points of interest, like a variety of museums, good restaurants, just sight seeing along the Malibu coast and mountains and nearby parks, The current Executive Director is especially engaging and genuinely cares about the quality of our lives while g CD here. We have a very good and friendly housekeeping, dining room server, culinary, activity, health maintenance and facility maintenance staff. Professional entertainers perform here weekly. At 87, I’m still driving safely. But p have transportation support for healthcare appointments and various enjoyable outings. My wife is now getting the extra assistance she needs on the well-staffed and separate memory care unit. There are excellent nearby restaurants, shopping, etc. This is an excellent place to spend your retirement when the effects of aging make it no longer comfortable to manage a high-maintenance house and home. Nuff said.

I just called to ask an independent person(receptionist ) about if there was more independent or assisted living residents living there. She told me more independent people lived there and then I asked how the food was. I have looked at many Atria reviews and the food is always the biggest complaint. She hesitated and then told me she would have to transfer me to the sales person. I told her I didn't want to talk to the sales person who would just tell me anything to get me to move my loved one in. I said thank you and hung up. Seconds later the sales rep called and lied to me and said she missed a hang up call from my number. I confronted her and told her that she was lying and she got my number from the receptionist and that I hadn't called her. I asked why she couldn't be truthful with me. I wouldn't mind if she called me back and was truthful but she lied and told me she didn't like my tone and hung up on me. I have. read their reviews and some said that the management was rude. I guess they were correct. I will not be moving my parent into Atria Grand Oaks

Run if you can! Thousands of dollars tied up and wasted! My father-in-law was in the hospital near Vegas. We needed to find a safe space for him here in Thousand Oaks. We went to Atria. They took our $ the day we visited, we paid for movers to set up his room. (Bizarrely they kept offering us sandwiches.) They sent their nurse to see him in the rehab facility in Vegas area a week or two before and the facility gave their nurse all the paperwork. A week or two later my husband flew out, rented a car and stayed in a hotel to drive him to Atria in the morning. I got a call at 7pm the moving night before where they told us they would not take him because of a drug the hospital put him on. They claimed they never received any paperwork. We scrambled because he was being discharged. We found a nursing home in Vegas and it took us another two weeks to get him settled here in another place. Atria took over a month to refund us while keeping over $1,000 of our deposit because they claimed they never any paperwork until the night of rejection. Run, run, run!

The employees are amazing. I rarely am this impressed especially since it was a hard decision to put mom in assisted living. From the director to the maintenance people we have nothing but great things to say. They are friendly and accommodating to all residents and family. The food is very good and the residents welcomed mom with open arms. The whole family was impressed and highly recommend Grand Oaks.
