Arbor Terrace Athens

I have a close friend who lives at Arbor Terrace. Prior to his move, He lived at another senior living facility in Athens but, ultimately, needed more assistance than they were equipped to provide. His daughter and I visited a number of facilities in the Athens area and ultimately, the decision was made… with his approval… to make the move to Arbor Terrace and a wise decision this proved to be. It is one of the smaller senior living opportunities in this area and thus can provide a very personal relationship with individuals who reside there, which he, his family and friends much appreciate. Also, the apartments are extremely nice with the safety of the residents secured. Arbor Terrace has well-trained staff who really care about the people they serve. The kitchen provides nutritious and tasty three meals a day via a menu with healthy choices from which residents can consider with oversight of staff aware of their dietary needs. My friend appreciates the many activities made available in which the residents can and do participate, including off-campus field trips provided by the facility for those who can and wish to participate. I think it is important to know that there are two opportunities for seniors at Arbor Terrace: One for those who need general care and assistance and a second for those who need around-the-clock oversight. Those who need more assistance are in a separate neighborhood of the building with very nice apartments and they also enjoy programming, excellent food service and the opportunity with those of adequate health to enjoy activities off-site as well. I visit my friend often and have decided, as I age, if I cannot adequately provide for myself in my current home, I would like my next residence to be Arbor Terrace of Athens.

I have nothing but positive things to say Arbor Terrace of Athens. As a third party coming into the community, one thing that always stands out is the positive atmosphere throughout the community. From the moment you walk through the doors, residents are engaged, staff members are welcoming, and there is a genuine sense that people care about one another. Dyana, Jana, and Keshia show so professionalism, kindness, and have the commitment to providing excellent care to the residents while supporting their families. Another amazing thing about Arbor is the longevity of the staff. I have known Judy and Titus for a long time. They both have hearts of gold and always go the extra mile. My experience with Arbor has always been amazing. It does have that feeling of home away from home. I would highly recommend Arbor Terrace of Athens!

My mother has been at Arbor Terrace for 4.5 years. Initially, she was in Bridges but 2 years ago moved to Evergreen due to her worsening dementia. I have found the staff to be kind, helpful, and welcoming. Arbor is clean and has a lovely garden area. My mother enjoys the koi fish in the pond. Any issues that I may have are addressed promptly. When my mother has a day of clarity, she has told me that “this is a nice place” which is comforting to me.

We moved my mother-in-law from Chattanooga to Arbor Terrace/Athens a year ago. It was a difficult move for her, leaving behind friends and independent living but it ended up being the right move at the right time. Arbor Terrace was the perfect place for her. She loved her room that overlooked a courtyard. The staff, from the Director, marketing director, activities director to the med techs and staff that took care of her were amazing. Truly made her feel welcome, appreciated and loved. She enjoyed the meals and companionship with her tablemates and participated in most of the activities. I would definitely recommend Arbor Terrace for your loved ones.
