Anthology of Tuckahoe

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our family will always be grateful for the compassionate care my mother received while living at Tuckahoe of Barclay. From the moment she became a resident, she was treated with kindness, dignity, respect, and genuine compassion. The community itself is beautiful, both inside and out. The building and grounds are exceptionally well maintained, creating a warm and welcoming environment for residents and their families. There was always something planned to keep residents engaged, and the activities created wonderful opportunities for families to spend meaningful time together. It truly feels like a community where people are valued and cared for. A very special thank you to Silo, my mother's primary aide, who had a remarkable gift for making her smile every day. Those moments of joy meant more to our family than words can express. Thank you to Hilda, whose gentle and attentive care helped my mother remain comfortable while always preserving her dignity. Her kindness, patience, and professionalism never went unnoticed. And to Alric, thank you for the warmth you brought each day. Singing to my mother while helping her take her medications transformed an everyday routine into moments of comfort, peace, and even happiness. It was such a thoughtful act of compassion, and our family will always remember it. What impressed us most was that the staff cared not only for my mother's physical well-being but also for her emotional well-being. They took the time to know her as a person, not just as a resident, and that meant everything to our family. Choosing an assisted living community for someone you love is never easy, but if you are looking for a place where residents are treated like family in a beautiful, welcoming environment, I wholeheartedly recommend Tuckahoe of Barclay. Thank you to everyone who made such a positive difference in my mother's life and in the lives of our family.

Tuckahoe at Barclay is an amazing community. We had our mom under there care and they took great care of her. The community is beautiful inside and out. The staff is even more amazing. They were so attentive to her needs. It's so many staff that made an incredible impact on her stay. Julie, the Director of Nursing was so kind and took time to answer our questions. Helen was always providing us with updates. Hilda was at our mother's bedside when the pastor read her last rights. Janice always had a caring update even as momma was declining. Priscilla, Jessica and Silo were always attentive to her needs. My sister leaves out of town, I live local. We felt so safe knowing we could work and rest well at night knowing she was in great care. Natasha Christian, Executive Director was instrumental in our decision. Every word she told us of what her team was able to do was spot on. The entire community was exceptional.

I am so appreciative of their caring and attentive staff that are so nice to me every time I visit, but most importantly, wonderful to my father over the last year and some months he’s been there. When I go back next weekend, I’m going to jot down the names of those staff that definitely need a shout out and post another review through my husband’s account :-). As any new organization, there have been management changes, and the corporation is working hard to improve any loopholes. I even noticed my dad’s room has been cleaned better lately and they’re keeping the door shut because he’s in memory care and residents are able to walk down the hall and get exercise which is great but some of them wandered into his toilet, and my dad doesn’t even use his… But that has been remedied. Thank you housekeeping for doing a great job cleaning my dads room… Don’t forget the toilet :-). We pay for them to do my fathers laundry, and that’s been kept up a little more organized lately… Thank you! Keep up the good work, and I know you all will keep striving to improve… As I think, even the food could be a little better, but we’re very appreciative of everything and I know you’re working on that too! These workers deserve a special place in heaven ❤️💥

I know a friend that was there for about 1 yr. He was missing money from there. Do not leave cash anywhere or valuables. Even in the drawers. They will be missing. The place was very clean. Food not all that great.
