The staff at American House Wildwood are outstanding. Their competence and genuine compassion are palpable and were felt immediately upon entering the premises and compelled our family to decide to entrust them with our uncle without even conferring privately between ourselves; it was obvious and instantaneously unanimous for us. Our uncle, who has special needs aside from dementia, began flourishing immediately upon entering in a way we hadn't seen prior, which I can only attribute to the high quality of care and attention the staff provides. The burden - emotional and practical - that they have relieved from our family and from my father is immense and has had a positive impact on the entire family. The staff is immediately accessible and responsive at all times and I can actually tell that they love what they do and are totally engaged in the spiritual aspect of their work. I would not hesitate for even a moment to recommend American House Wildwood Village to anyone to entrust with a precious relative.

I am writing to formally express my deep concerns and serious grievances regarding the conditions and management of the senior living facility where my mother currently resides. Despite being advertised as an upscale senior living community, the reality is starkly different. The facility is in a state of severe disrepair, with walls and roofs literally falling apart. The building is plagued with dust and mold, creating an unhealthy and unsafe environment for the residents. The entrance areas are surrounded by bricks and tape due to ongoing structural damage, making access difficult and unsafe. To enter the building and see my mother, I am forced to pass through what used to be a beautiful beauty salon, which now has holes in its walls and is in a deplorable state. Moreover, the management of this facility has been deeply troubling. It appears that ownership changes approximately every six months, contributing to a lack of consistency and accountability. The staffing levels are chronically inadequate, resulting in frequent neglect of residents who push their call buttons for assistance. This level of carelessness and disregard for the well-being of residents is unacceptable. The only consistent areas within the facility seem to be the dining area and the hair salon, yet even these do not compensate for the overall deterioration of the facility and its services. The current Director, Kathleen, has repeatedly provided misleading information to families, promising improvements that never materialize. We have caught her in multiple instances of dishonesty, which severely undermines trust in the administration. To compound these issues, I have heard disturbing reports of abuse among residents in the Alzheimer’s unit. This is alarming and deeply distressing for families entrusting their loved ones to this facility. The combination of mismanagement, unsafe conditions, and potential abuse is absolutely unacceptable given the exorbitant fees we are charged—over $80,000 annually. Several family members and I are now actively working together to remove our loved ones from this deteriorating and unsafe environment. As this situation cannot be allowed to continue, my next step will be to formally report these conditions and concerns to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services for immediate investigation and intervention. I urge you to take this matter seriously and to consider the wellbeing of all residents currently living under these deplorable conditions. It is imperative that immediate action is taken to address these issues. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.

My mom just moved in a week ago, Katrie and her staff has been outstanding though all of this. They are always there to answer questions and to help out my mom. They have made this transition seamless, my mom is enjoying her time here, and feels very comfortable being here. Thank you!

Just moved my mom into the community. The care she has received in memory care has been exceptional. The food and new chef are very accommodating to my mother’s needs also. Memory care has been the best choice I could have made for my mother.
