Facility is pretty clean, but that's about the only positive. Getting a hold of someone in person is nearly impossible. Staff lacks initiative and accountability. Will be moving my uncle to a different facility. He spent a night without heat. They eventually brought him blankets after multiple complaints, but no portable space heater! Negligent. Changed my 2 stars to a one star. Impossible to get anyone in person - they never answer their phones.

My mother lived first in Independent housing for 13 years and loved her apartment. When she needed extra care she moved to Assisted Living where she has received loving expert care from everyone from Administration to Nursing service, housekeeping, hairdresser and the dietary department. Everyone has made her comfort their top priority. I would specifically like to acknowledge the nurses or aides, Diedre, Andreanna, Mercedes, Shenavia, Laura, Maureen, the superb housekeeper Sheryl, Administrators Jackie and Erica along with the kitchen staff. I’d also like to acknowledge the hairdresser Annie who kept mom feeling good about herself! And where would the residents be without the recreation expert Julie whose energy and enthusiasm was contagious. Our family could not be more pleased with the attention and care provided for our mother. Thank you to everyone and to those who cared for my mom whose names I have missed. I wish it was in my power to give all these care givers a raise since they certainly deserve it. Thank you for providing quality care for our mom.

This is a poorly run facility at best. The roof collapsed on my grandfather’s building here. They moved him into a new building on site then increased his rent by hundreds of dollars per month after displacing him without his belongings. They use many sales tactics, praying upon your desire to care for a loved one in order to get you into a unit fast. After that, good luck getting all or any of what they promised would be available for the extreme cost of rent. The senior living industry is a vile race to rip our seniors of their hard-earned savings and American House leads the way by many miles. What a horrible shame.

American House Spring Lake provides a great home for senior citizens to age in place. When my parents needed to move from their home across the state to be near us due to my mom’s increasing Alzheimer’s, American House was the right place for them. It truly became their home, with wonderful caregivers and good friendships with other residents. After my mom passed away several years ago, the home-like setting and atmosphere was essential for my dad. He truly loved the caregivers and residents as family, and they returned that love. For as long as he could, he enjoyed slowly walking the grounds outdoors with his walker and was really happy in his home there.
