Allerton House Hingham Reviews

My family moved my mother to Allerton House three years ago as she could no longer live safely on her own due to an Alzheimer's diagnosis. We chose Allerton House because in addition to being an assisted living facility, they also had a memory care unit which we knew she would likely have to transition to at some point. I had heard very good things from friends and family who had relatives at Allerton House in the past, and I was also very impressed with my interactions with the staff during the intake process. From day one, the care my mother has received at Allerton House has been outstanding! At all levels, from the concierges, the administration, the kitchen staff, the maintenance team, the activity directors, the nursing staff, nursing aides, etc., it is clearly evident that they take an active interest in the health and well-being of all the residents in the assisted living and the memory care units! As hard as it is to watch a family member with Alzheimer's decline, there is comfort knowing she is in a place that has her best interests in mind and are keeping her happy and safe! I would highly recommend Allerton House to anyone considering assisted living and/or memory care options!

Prior to Allerton House Hingham, our mother was living in a much larger facility that felt like a college campus. Our family decided to move our mother and we couldn't be happier with our decision. Once the Allerton Team met with the family and interviewed our mother, they were able to determine our mothers needs and stressed that our mom would thrive (she is) in the Memory Care Unit. The units size (20 residents), Staff to Resident ratio, daily planned activities, monthly planning calendar for family members, the food service and the overall caring environment was exactly what our mother needed. Her room is decorated with her own furnishing and she has her own bathroom...it reminds her of home. Allerton House Hingham has been truly a blessing for our mother and family and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The Allerton Team Cares!

My aunt and uncle at age 90 made the decision to move to assisted living with a lot of trepidation. The staff at Allerton House Hingham were exceptionally caring and sensitive to their needs thereby easing their angst. During their first week in their new residence, the staff gave them a special 60th wedding anniversary dinner complete with rose petals and pictures from their wedding! Since then, my aunt and uncle have been joining in the bus trips and lunch adventures which is something they haven’t been able to do for years due to mobility issues. Allerton House Hingham has enabled them to make the most of their elder years.

I have had the privilege of providing music therapy services for residents of The Cove for multiple years through Sing Explore Create. This memory care community is a stand-out! Staff here are caring, genuine, and great at fostering a strong sense of community for residents. I believe the residents here have the compassionate support needed to ensure they truly feel safe, comfortable, and at home throughout the aging process. I am so grateful for our partnership!
