Academy Point at Mystic

A few months ago, I unfortunately had to make the difficult decision to put my father in an assistant living facility, as his mental health was declining. After touring some, I felt that Acdemy Point in Mystic was the best option for him and am glad that we chose it. The apartments are beautiful and clean, with beautiful views of downtown Mystic and the river. The restuarant on the 4th floor has great food and a really great menu with again a beautiful view! They have many activies everyday for the residents to do. The staff is great, they are patient, kind and always there to help!!! Especially Laura S. who I have worked with from the beginning of my Dad moving in. She has gone above and beyond for my Dad and for me many times in this difficult challenging period of our life's!! I would also like to acknowledge Joe who is maintaince/housekeeping who helps my Dad ALOT with the TV, phone etc... he is always very responsive when there is a problem and again very patient and kind. This whole experience has been so overwhelming for me and my family, but the staff there have been absolutely wonderful!! I highly recommend Academy Point..

I had the pleasure of working with Laura and Corina at Academy Point for a mutual resident. It is clear they care about their residents. They came to our facility to visit their resident, and were kind enough to visit with many of our residents-which the residents absolutely loved! Academy Point itself is beautiful in a great location with stunning views.

Academy Point (AP) has been an answer to our prayers. Early on in our search for the right facility for Dad, I spoke with their Director of Community relations, Laura Steele. I found her to be truly kind, helpful and supportive, and a wealth of knowledge. She checked in with me at intervals to see how things were going and to offer guidance. When I told her we were considering another facility, Laura was supportive and offered to continue to be a resource to me. Her kindness, deep knowledge and professionalism meant so much to me. To our surprise, the other facility we visited turned out to be a poor fit. Then, another facility we saw was a much better fit, but would be too expensive. So, even though it was a bit beyond our price range, we decided to look more closely at AP. I toured AP and was both delighted and impressed. Its smaller size, kind staff, pleasant decor and lovely setting (with spectacular views) convinced me that our Dad would be happy there—even if he adamantly refused to go. So, we had the right place, but a tremendous barrier remained: getting Dad there. Again, Laura was there to help us navigate what turned out to be one of the most difficult situations we’d ever encountered. Ultimately, we were able to move him to AP, and, with the support of the kind and attentive staff, he adjusted and settled in. He is happy there. He enjoys the food and the staff. He even joins a group of residents for breakfast each morning. He loves the attention he receives each day. We are forever grateful and thankful that Dad is happily and safely in his new home at AP.

Toured for our loved one and from start to finish your family was impressed. Incredible views, spacious apartments, caring staff, lovely residents. Stayed for a meal and the food was delicious! Highly recommended and signed a lease last week!
