Winterberry Heights

Our family would like to thank everyone at Memory Care at Winterberry Heights, from the bottom of our hearts. We have been so incredibly happy with our decision to bring our mother to Memory Care last January. From a friendly and smiling face at the front desk, to the innumerable workers who stopped what they were doing to let us in and out of the locked door, to the workers who cared for our mother in all the last stages of her life, we will be forever grateful. We are beyond happy to have chosen your warm and welcoming facility.

They owe me $300.00 for my work caring for the residents there. I called and went in, but was spoken to in an unprofessional manner and was told to never come back. I wrote down the hours I didn't get paid for and was told I would get paid for my services, but it's been over 2 weeks and still no money. The residents are only allowed 2 showers a week and only on specific days. When the residents ask for help, they tell them they can do it themselves! These residents are in their 80's and 90's, but yet don't want to help them. There's too much of a work load. The Caregivers are being forced to serve all the meals in the dining room, buss the tables, scrub toilets, do laundry, give showers, do paperwork, take out trash... They should have Dietary Aides for the dining room and the Caregivers should have time for enough personal care for the residents, but there's little time for that, since they have to do everything else. Stay away from this place unless you want to work with toxic staff and too much of a work load!

As the adult child of two aging parents with many needs, I feel a sigh of relief when I think of Winterberry. From the get-go, we felt cared for and were treated with kindness. I moved my father from a different institution into their Memory Care wing. My mother was still living with me, but I was in over my head. They did a home visit to find out all her needs and determine which level of care she would need, and a room opened up in the Assisted Living wing. Now my parents can visit daily if they want to, while each getting the privacy and level of care they need. All the staff I’ve been in contact with are good at what they do, and kind and considerate. Because of this I feel confidence and peace of mind.

We researched several assisted living facilities and we are so glad we decided on Winterberry Heights for my dad. He really enjoys living there and loves the food!. The staff are exceptional in the care they provide. Everyone knew my dad’s name on day one. Everyone goes over and above to attend to his needs.
