If you’re reading this, you’re probably very aware that caring for someone living with dementia is not an easy or predictable path. Having a compassionate team of people who understand dementia and its manifestations is invaluable. Our family found a devoted, experienced team at Willow Springs. We never thought we’d even consider having my mother live away from our home. However, we reached a point where we could no longer keep her safe. We needed help. Thankfully, we now have an entire facility of dedicated people who love and care for my mother as much as we do. It feels like our little family expanded more than we knew it could. Despite having dementia, my mother is still a vibrant person with awareness and senses. Willow Springs understands this and offers a variety of experiences to engage her and her fellow residents. Local musicians regularly visit and perform. There are lovely, safe outdoor areas planted with fragrant trees and flowers. There are snacks aplenty! Most importantly, my mother is treated gently with both kindness and respect. As the family of a Willow Springs resident, we always feel welcome. We are involved in the decisions about my mother’s care. We’ve found the team to be flexible and open to all manner of creative solutions, no matter how perplexing the situation. We are also included in activities and events, many of which have led to unexpected moments of fun and joy. Yes, there can be fun and joy while living with dementia! For the greater community, Willow Springs generously offers a caregiver support group. It’s open to anyone who cares for a loved one experiencing dementia. To us, that speaks volumes about this facility, its people, and its lived values. If your family - like ours - is working through how to live with dementia and what care can look like, a visit to Willow Springs is highly recommended.

A few years ago as we looked into placing my mother into a care facility and we picked Willow Springs which turned out to a perfect fit and a great decision. The staff and nurses at the facility are amazing. They all loved on my mom and made us feel as family. Even in the final days of my mom they showed her respect and loved on her as if she was their own family, and for our experience I can not say enough good things about Willow Springs.

I cannot recommend Willow Springs more. It feels like visiting your aunt's house with fresh baked cookies in the entry way and permission to visit anytime. They foster the feeling of family well, which was very important for me. I visited many facilities and nothing compared the the intimate, home-like setting here. It softened the disappointment of not being able to care for her at home; and she received the support and expertise she deserved. The staff deeply care for the residents and their families and provide many activities and opportunities for them from carefully prepared crafts, weekly church services, to special holiday events for the whole family. My mother, Karen, moved in at the end of 2022 and developed the sweetest connections with the kind, thoughtful, caring staff. When she was close to passing they allowed me to stay overnight with her and even brought in a beautiful cart of snacks and drinks for me. During that time, some of the staff members who would be off the next few days kissed her goodbye and told her they loved her. Even though she had been silent for hours before, she responded, "I love you, too". It was a beautiful moment to witness. The staff here serves the residents with their whole hearts and I am so grateful to them for giving my mother the same care they would to their own mother.

I’m so grateful for Willow Springs. My brother and I were suddenly faced with the trauma of finding a place for our mom, and we initially placed her in a different facility. We quickly determined that she was not receiving the level of care that we desired for our mom, and after visiting several other facilities, Willow Springs was the clear winner. Trish and Brittney were so kind and helpful in making the transition over, and I just wish my mom had gone straight to Willow Springs. It’s been more than three years now, and I’m constantly impressed - and grateful - for the care and attention my mom receives. I will never be able to thank the staff enough for all that they do, and I’m especially grateful to the extraordinary Danielle and Christina. They are like guardian angels. Thank you!!
