Now that my brother Terence Michael Wyatt has passed away, I can write this review without fear of retribution for him from them. Do not take your family to Wheeler Terrace. They lie. They do not care for people. They just took our money -upfront--then had no compassion or thoughtfulness for my brother and kicked him out shortly after he was there-- even though they knew he had issues when they interviewed him. They promised he would be fine there and well taken care of. They lied. They take lots of money from you upfront--then kick your loved ones out and keep the money you paid upfront. It is a great way to make lots of money in a s short period of time and keep vacancies open there to make more money. They should be ashamed of themselves.

My mother has been at Wheeler for 6 months now and although there was a difficult adjustment period for her and us, the staff here at Wheeler have been there for me and my family during every situation and question asked (and believe me there were and are a lot of questions). To mention a couple of the many helpful and wonderful staff members, Hollie and Terra have been great and very responsive. Example: mom was recently having a hard day (she has dementia) and I texted Hollie while on the phone with mom and Hollie was down at her room immediately and walked her around, hugged her and talked her through her moment. I couldn't be more happy with the staff and care here at Wheeler. Also, Hollie and Terra had a dementia specialist come in and speak to families about how to deal with loved ones with dementia, and me and my brothers made sure we were there for that! Karli is over the activities, and she runs ragged keeping all the residents busy - she's amazing too and always a smile on her face! I am leaving out many of the other staff that are great and friendly too - so thank you all for what you do. It takes a special human to take care of our elderly loved ones!!!

Oct. 2024: My mom lives at.wheeler and has for 5 1/2 years. Wheeler has had many ups and downs staff-wise but they have fixed all that. Terra, the exec dir, has settled in nicely. Holly, the nurse, is exceptional in all the best ways. The floor staffing now is great! I feel better about her care than I have the entire time of her residency. Highly recommend.

Wheeler Place has been just what we needed when our mom could no longer live alone. They have provided her with everything that she needs right now in her life--activities to keep her active, exercise to help strengthen her muscles, new friends to work jig saw puzzles with, and nourishing and delicious food. The residents and staff are friendly and kind and make sure that she has a chance to take part in everything that is offered. She is very happy--which makes her family extremely happy too!
