I was initially hesitant to visit Westminster Suncoast in St. Petersburg since I hoped to find something closer to home in Tampa for my father. But after hearing so many great reviews, I decided to take a look—and I’m glad I did. The amenities are impressive, but the FOOD was even more so! It’s easy to see why this facility has such strong reviews—great staff, great location, and a clear commitment to quality care.

Westminster Suncoast is a very nice facility. But the real gem are the employees. After a 16 day stay at the hospital my mom was placed in their skilled nursing center. The staff were all very attentive and treated my mom with care and dignity. Cassie, the Director of Nursing just went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and really helped us with transitioning mom into the nursing home. We are forever grateful for her kindness and for seeing mom as a person, not just a patient. Sandy in the business office has also been a great resource and help with navigating the tangle web that is DCF and Medicaid. Just a great staff all around. If you are looking for a facility for your loved one…I would recommend Westminster Suncoast. They are five stars in my book.

I had the privilege of working with Westminster Retirement Home to coordinate a salsa volunteer event for the residents, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and gracious hospitality. We were given a tour of the facility, and I was truly amazed by the welcoming atmosphere and beautifully maintained grounds. A friendly security guard kindly directed us to the welcome event center, and along the way, we were captivated by the immaculate landscaping, which included a serene butterfly garden and a thriving vegetable garden—both lovingly cultivated by the residents themselves. It was heartwarming to see how engaged the community is in nurturing their environment. Mariela, the Executive Director, personally welcomed us with genuine enthusiasm and shared a bit of the property’s history. She introduced us to her dedicated team, each of whom radiated positivity and pride in their work. It was clear that the staff truly enjoy being part of this vibrant community. To our delight, appetizers were provided from the facility’s kitchen, and every bite was incredible. We later learned that Westminster has brought on a former executive chef from a renowned five-star restaurant—an impressive and well-deserved addition. Mariela, along with Yoelvys, the Kitchen Manager, went above and beyond to coordinate refreshments and ensure we had everything we needed throughout the event, all while contributing great energy to the room. Thanks to the thoughtful planning and support from Mariela and her staff, the event ran smoothly, allowing us to focus on engaging with the residents and putting on a joyful, energetic salsa session. Overall, we were deeply impressed by the warmth, professionalism, and care evident throughout Westminster Retirement Home. The facility, staff, and community created a truly memorable experience, and we would be honored to return in the future. Thank you, Westminster, for welcoming us so generously!

There are moments in life that mark us with a memorable, everlasting, and an unforgettable experience. For me, that moment was on June 28, 2025 volunteering at Westminster. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted and assisted by security whom directed me to my destination. After arriving to my destination, I met with the Executive Director, Mariela. Mariela was and is wonderful! She shared so much with us including history of the grounds, architecture , and even the landscaping. Mariela took us on a tour of the facilities and I was so impressed on how many options the residents had. From entertainment to even having their own salon! How amazing is that!! But then I got to meet the residents. To interact and see everyone’s smiles. To see how happy they were only tells me that Mariela is the right person. Her passion is evident not only on the residents but also the staff. From location to location, each staff member greeted with smiles and it was genuine. I do have one downside about all of this and it might ruin this entire post. I’m sorry but I have to be honest. But that one thing is that I wish I could’ve stayed longer. No it was not because of time. No it was not because we had to leave. It was because my heart will always forever be with the residents at Westminster.
