This place is pretty. That's why it gets 1 star instead of 0. I've been here a year. My parents are in a separate unit. Every level of care has gone down. There's not enough staff. Response time to the call button is between 60 and 90 minutes. My father was positioned flatly in his hospital bed and couldn't breathe. Nobody responded to his call button for over an hour. I've witnessed verbal abuse and threats by caregivers regularly. 2 residents have told be they are afraid to report the abuse for fear of making it worse. I've caught nurses taking shortcuts and administering meds incorrectly. Ive gotten locked out of the facility because nobody responds to the after hours number. I had a medical emergency and i was ignored. Somebody else called 911. Kitchen is poorly managed. You wait 90 minutes for food and then the order is wrong. They run out of things daily. And the cost to live here is outrageous. Administration is doing all they can to fill rooms with no consideration to the fact that there's nobody here to take care of them. Watercrest is a nightmare. I'm moving out. My parents are staying but I've hired them private caregivers. I don't want to move them again. Oh, and anyone who works here has a key to all the units. I put a code lock on my closet after countless things went "missing" including costume jewelry, alcohol, and a bunch of stupid things like boxes of batteries. While I was in the hospital recently, the cash i had hidden disappeared. If you move in, which you shouldn't, you must protect your valuables. Locking your door is like not locking it. I understand that the memory care unit is run very well. People still steal stuff but...The atmosphere is attractive and inviting. The nurse running the unit is great. That unit also gets served first from the kitchen. But the unit is full and there's quite the wait list.

Watercrest is beautiful, welcoming and spotlessly clean. I recently had to make the tough decision to place my mother into memory care, and after touring many places, I knew immediately that Watercrest was “the one” as soon as I visited. The way they have created a village center - “Market Street” within the memory care area is so creative, and a delightful environment. As lovely as the facility is, it’s truly the staff that makes Watercrest the best place for us. Their kindness, dedication, patience and professionalism is evident throughout the facility in all situations. I am grateful every day that my mother is safe in their care.

Watercrest in Winter Park Florida: Picturesque, elite and as unique as the residents as well as the staff. As a caregivers observeration it's a dream home, safe, clean and a 24hr guarded facility with a nurses station on each level. Fine dining, games and sitting rooms for visitors and grandchildren. Poolside piano, local WinterPark musicians and soloists, entertainment, Happy new year Watercrest 2024!!
