VITALIA® Mentor

My Mom has been a resident of Vitalia Mentor since the first week it opened. As any business has had its ups and down - I can say we have experienced the same with Arrow/Vitalia......it is just the world today......but one thing shines clear. The staff there cares about my Mom. They listen to us. They pull together when they are short staffed. My mom is safe there. She has friends there. I do not lose one night of sleep over her safety or well-being at Vitalia. I believe having the executive team of Mark and Chloe has made an enormous impact on the spirits of the residents and progress in transparency. They feel heard. When you see the genuine hugs between staff and residents - the smiles on the residents’ faces - you know your person is in the right place.

There is a complete dereliction of duty by the staff here. My Mother went without medication and was feeling awful. They blatantly fail to follow up with family questions and will not call you back. Do not be fooled by a nice facility. Do not be fooled by promises that your loved one will have activities. It's simply not true. I find it morally unacceptable for this place to call themselves assisted living. This is far from the truth. It hurts our families heart that their lack of staffing, lack of compassion and complete lack of accountability is happening in plain site. We're taking our loved one out of there at the very first chance we get. It's completely unnexceptable that someone can go without their medication. Even worse that they won't call a family member back.

Mom was one of the first residents in 2023. Her apartment is gorgeous and the activities and friends she made are great. However, ever since it was sold a year ago the cost has gone up 2x, the quality and quantity of food has diminished and they can't maintain staff. The food was a big seller for me and I calculated she spends $1000 a month on the food. Shameful. They HAVE to do BETTER.

Highly recommend Vitalia. From the start with their wonderful marketing duo, to the team of directors they have assembled, to the quality of interior and exterior finishes, it was worth the wait for opening this week! The staff have treated my mom like she is their own family and it already feels like the definition of community.
