Village on the Park McKinney

This is a beautiful and an elegant community located in quiet part of McKinney. The classy entrance, grand concierge, and spacious apartment with courtyard were very welcoming as we the family members of the resident felt more comfortable to make it the senior living facility of our choice. On the day of arrival, the family and the resident were welcomed with red carpet and ribbon cutting by the staff, when the key to the apartment was given to the resident with a toast drink of his choice. The name board prepared by the director J’Layna was remarkable, with appropriate honorable title, representing the education and professional service of the resident. The executive director Corey has been phenomenal in assisting the smooth settling process with prompt availability by texts, phone calls, and emails, and making the resident feel acclimated in the new environment. The nursing director Veronica has been keenly caring and closely monitoring the care plan and medication management so that the resident is well cared in the transition. All the staff at the front desk and dining room, nursing and care techs have been extremely kind to the resident and the family members so that we all felt safe and secure for the resident to call the apartment in the facility, their home. All the residents have extended a warm, refreshing welcome to the family and the resident such that the resident is at ease, experiencing joy and peace. We thank God and the executive director Corey, who made the stay purposeful and enjoyable for the resident and the family members to provide honorable and dignified care during this season of their life.

A few of my piano students performed at Village on the Park McKinney and received a warm welcome from both residents and staff. The facility is very nice. Thank you to Kimberly and Jo, Director and Asst. Director of Life Enrichment, for making it possible for us to play the piano and meet some of the residents.

Corey did an amazing job. She always provides more information than we even know to ask for! I felt truly supported and cared for, especially during this confusing time. I believe she and her colleagues are doing something truly meaningful. Watching the services they provide touched me deeply—it really helps both the seniors and their families.

I just want to say how pleased I am with Village on the Park McKinney. My mom has lived at this community for more than 2 1/2 years but it wasn’t always Village on the Park McKinney. When she moved in it was owned by another senior living company that will remain unnamed. Let’s just say we went through some ups and downs with that other company until we were bought out by The Aspenwood Company in April 2024. We saw improvements immediately and slowly things started to get better. We saw turn around in care staff and now the care team is professional day and night - something we didn’t always see under the previous owners. (I expect the 1 star reviews are from some of the previous staff members which we experienced issues and unprofessionalism with.) I see high expectations for excellence being met and I’m grateful for that. Now we have an amazing care staff - Julianna, Bryan, and Alvine are a few of my favorites. I think a big part of the amazing care staff has to do with our Director Of Resident Care, Veronica who supports them. Veronica is passionate about quality of care for the residents as well as her staff and her actions show it. Our Executive Director, Corey, is always there for me if I need anything. It means everything to me to have an ED that I feel has my back and is there for me and my mom AND she follows through until the issue is resolved. I LOVE HER! We have great maintenance, thanks to John. I feel sure that any maintenance issue will be addressed and resolved with John on our staff. Thank you for the beautiful landscaping and flowers in the pots at the entrance. We look like an upscale assisted living community now. Activities staff Jo and Lauren are amazing with how they interact with the residents and all they do for them. So much love. Everyone has a warm smile and friendly greeting when I come to visit, which I appreciate very much. The residents are treated like family and the community feels professional and upscale. I feel supported and cared for by the entire staff and for that I’m grateful. Thank you to everyone at Village on the Park McKinney for giving my mom a happy home.
