I’m so glad I moved to Vi at La Jolla now almost 5 years ago. The quality of life is amazing here. I love my beautiful redecorated apartment and have been happily exploring La Jolla with all its five star restaurants, shopping and most amazing beaches. Living at Vi has enabled me to participate in so many fabulous activities such as theater, the arts, lectures and more. Volunteering in the community has been essential for me and Vi supports community volunteer efforts. The Vi community is vital, diverse, friendly and welcoming. One of the best parts of living at Vi La Jolla is the incredible staff. My sales representative Stephanie Bausone was so helpful, guiding and efficient getting me settled into a new life here. And our valet/concierge/security teams make living here so pleasant, comfortable and safe. Our executive Director Stephanie Boudreau is always looking out for her Vi family and guiding the ship to create a safe, positive and well run community. Her monthly letters to the community are so welcome with her encouragement to make the most of life with good friends and neighbors. I’m forever grateful to my ‘family’ here at Vi! Come join us for the kind life you deserve!

Our experience with Vi at La Jolla Village was 5-Star from the start, really. Kelly Parkins of the sales team initially gave us a leisurely tour and answered all our questions. After that, we met with residents who have common interests or situations to our own, which really helped us evaluate whether the community would be a good fit for us. (It absolutely is!) The facilities are really beautiful - fresh and clean, well-maintained, with many recent renovations. We had meals in all of the 4 dining venues and the food is excellent, with plenty of choices for me - a vegan - and for my husband - not a vegan! We attended a lecture, an exercise class, a movie in their theatre, a walking excursion, and conversations over meals with residents. Residents were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Plenty of folks in our age range (70’s) as well as older. We loved the vibe. Another BIG reason we think Vi can be our forever home now: It is a RARE Type A community where all levels of care are available on the one campus - Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Memory Support. We would not have to move or travel if one (or both) of us needs a higher level of care in the future. Our experience of the staff has been great, without exception: Sales, renovation crew, move-in management, dining have all been courteous, warm, competent, good communicators. So yes, we’re moving there in a few weeks. As much as we feel grief in leaving the home we’ve loved for decades, we believe this is the right choice for us.

My husband and I moved into the Vi exactly one year ago. Our decision to move into the Vi is one of the best we have ever made. The staff are helpful, fun to interact with, and make the residents glad to be here. We are a LGBT couple. Everyone from the valet to executive staff have been wonderful to us-the vast majority of the residents are progressive, liberal and non judgmental. Last year the Vi celebrated its first PRIDE event and now it is in the midst of celebrating it's second year. Even though we have been here a year, we still interact with the sales department. We have become family to them and they to us My husband says , "that the Vi is so well run because it is run by women!!" It is soooooooooo true. We are encouraging our LGBT friends to move here. We they will be most welcomed. The Vi offers full service-independent living, assisted living, nursing and dementia-something all "senior citizens" need to consider when looking for a retirement community to move in to. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE LIVING AT THE Vi. Read less

My wife and I looked at about 12 retirement communities, and Vi at La Jolla Village was the only one that appealed to us. What we like most are: 1) The welcoming residents at Vi are a diverse group of people with amazing backgrounds. People here are enjoying life. 2) The staff at Vi is fantastic! This includes the staffs from sales, dining, maintenance, health services, management, accounting, housekeeping, etc. They all made our move-in painless and are wonderful to work with on an on-going basis. 3) The location of Vi: There are trolley & bus stops within a 5-minute walk that will get you to the beach, UCSD Campus, Medical Appointments, downtown La Jolla or SD, etc. We rarely use our car. 4) The activities organized by the Lifestyles Department: from bus trips, walking excursions, lectures, concerts, exercise classes, health education, plus lots more... 5) The food is outstanding! There are four restaurants (3 for dinner) and the menu changes weekly. 6) The facilities: strength training gym, indoor swimming pool, brain exercise facility, 2 libraries, movie theater, auditorium which you can access just an elevator ride away. 7) Knowing that assisted living, memory care, and nursing care is next door if / when we need it. We are very happy that we made the move to Vi at La Jolla Village.
