Truewood by Merrill, Roseville

I have been a resident here at Truewood since 2021. I had a stroke so I needed to reside in a facility that would provide semi care, a room with a bath, and meals that I didn't have to cook. I also wanted a care taker who would do my laundry and help me shower so I would not risk a fall. I have been very pleased with this facility and the person I chose as my caregiver. I've enjoyed meeting other guests here and have made some great friends. I like the leisure activities such as bingo and bean bag baseball. I also have joined the resident council and I feel that is helping me understand what's going on around here. The staff and student servers are very good. The kitchen staff here are helpful and caring. My room is comfortable and spacious. I have a two bedroom unit. I have a cat who is 12 years old and he can go outside on my screened patio. He is happy here also. The meals here are nutritious and always tasty. It's not easy pleasing everyone, but they do a good job.

Living at Truewood Roseville has been a truly positive experience. From the beginning, I have felt welcomed, respected, and cared for by a team that makes every effort to provide a comfortable and supportive community. What stands out most is the friendly atmosphere. The staff takes the time to know residents personally, and that makes a real difference. Whether it is a kind greeting in the hallway, help with a daily need, or an activity that brings people together, there is a genuine sense of connection here. Make no mistake, the staff are normal people and have their problems as most do, but they are very good at avoiding residents with their aggravations. The following is MY interpretation of how this place runs and is definitely not official. Truewood has Ambassadors that are assigned to new residents to assist in any questions and to be your first resident friend. I also appreciate the care that goes into keeping the community pleasant, engaging, and safe. Truewood Roseville feels like a place where residents can enjoy independence while knowing support is nearby when needed. Most residents here share some of the effects of aging and are naturally comfortable with each other’s situations. There are a variety of mobility assist devices and fall detection devices. Some residents employ their own assistants for therapy and other medical assistance. There are personal assist services on site for hair do’s, nail clipping, et The Dining Room is set to represent a typical mid-level restaurant, not too fancy, but comfortable for most. There is a “No Reserved Seats” policy which helps new residents meld into the group with less angst. There is a Grand Piano in the dining room that has provided many enjoyable melodies. They have a resident supported Library stocked with excellent choices of novels, reference books, etc.. There is a Movie Room for viewing resident requests, complete with popcorn. The game room supports small group gaming activity, such as card games, checkers, dominos, … Also they have an Activity Room that facilitates hobbies such as arts and crafts that need special space and supplies, complete with a staff person focused on assisting in these activities. She also serves the needs for transport to medical appointments, shopping trips and planned scenic trips. The surrounding grounds are available to walk around to enjoy the resident supported flowers and landscapes, outdoor furniture, and fireplace. Talking about staff, they are typical in most respects. But there are also standouts. I have a few favorites; Jessica is a dining room server and also a housekeeper. She has an exceptionally positive attitude. Everyone is her friend and she is friendly to all, no exception. Housekeepers’ clean resident rooms once a week, including washing a replacing bed sheets. Many of the Servers are local students and as most youth are very friendly. The Front Desk has many staff assigned to it, most with extra knowledge for resident questions and providing many community communications. I am grateful for my experience living here and would gladly recommend Truewood Roseville to anyone looking for a welcoming senior living community with caring people and a warm sense of home.

We recently visited our dear friend who just moved here & we stayed 2 nights in the facility guest room. The building exterior & interior were very clean, updated & cozy. They're in the process of replacing the old elevator. We ordered dinner & breakfast from the kitchen (the same meals served for the residents) & they were delicious, there's a fancy coffee machine in the dining room where I got my cappuccino. Our friend told us the staff here were very nice. Sure thing. They were very welcoming & made sure our stay were comfortable & we got everything we needed. Thank you for your hospitality & we'll definitely return.

Truewood staff was very welcoming. Facility was clean & fresh smelling. Offers a wide variety of activities throughout the day. Studios were small but had lots of windows & light. Would have preferred carpet in room. Small kitchen with only a refrigerator & sink. Off a busy street but backyard was wooded & quiet. Great tour.
