Overall poor quality of care. Inattentive staff. Lacked communication within own nursing shifts, as well as other agencies, and with family. Inadequate medical treatment plans and face sheets with directives. Our loved one showed a rapid decline while in memory care. Went from ambulatory to mostly wheel chair, gained alot of weight and became very weak, in despair. The facility recommended hospice care. After multiple ER visits/ falls, eventually left with an open wound and severe diaper rashes. Nurses and aids need proper dialog on discharge plans, training with med equipment oxygen, hoyer lifts etc. There should be an expected decorum of bedside manner/ understanding when residents show signs of pain or discomfort. This facility could use more staffing for the level of care that is accepted. As for cleanliness, the bathroom was disgusting with weeks old fecies and flies in a broken toilet that was still there when her things were moved a week later- will refrain from adding those pics here. This is a direct reflection of management and administration. Post move, our loved one is thriving, improved mobility and happy -Hospice not needed.

There were generally two staff workers available to attend to the 25-30 residents in memory care. It is impossible to imagine how those two people could have checked each room at the beginning of the day and assisted them in getting up, dressed and into the dining area. In the ten days we were there fewer than half of the residents were present at meal time. The food was substandard and cold most of the time. The residents wandered in and out of each others rooms. Meds were not given at inappropriate times. My husband’s sleep mask was almost never placed on him. There was no evidence that he had been given a shower. His catheter bag was not emptied. I don’t know how they have passed inspection.

Please look elsewhere for care. My father was here for three years, and cant emphasize enough how much of a money grab it is. They do the bare "minimum" and I mean that. Less than minimum. Understaffed, even nights where I came and their was ZERO aids in the building...this place should be investigated. They don't even administer the meds properly and make sure they take them, even though you pay for it. Also they rarely clean the rooms and frequently miss showers for tenants....ZERO accountability from management, all rude. Hope this helps at least one person stay away. I brought my father back home three weeks ago, and am SOOOOO much happier knowing I care for him now.

I recently toured this building with my mother, as she is getting ready to make her move to an Assisted Living facility, and we were really happy with what we saw and experienced. The building is clean and the staff were really nice and helpful, every question we had we felt we got an answer. I feel that we met everyone as we toured, from the Executive Director to the Maintenance Director and even the housekeeper that would clean my mothers room, everyone seemed to be out in the halls doing something and were so nice and welcoming to us. It was a very warm atmosphere. We have toured several buildings in the past few months and West Chester Assisted Living has been, by far, the best and most memorable experience we have had. We were even given a free lunch so my mom could sample the service and it was the best food we have had during these tours. The kitchen was staff were welcoming and warm also. They made sure my mom’s food was prepared as she liked it and that she had everything she needed. There were multiple options for her to choose from and even chicken tenders for my son! Overall we were very pleased and I’m certain, that when she is ready, my mom and I will definitely choose West Chester Assisted Living!
