Overview
Assisted Living
Each resident’s care plan is personalized to ensure activities, independence, and assistance are all balanced for a healthy lifestyle. Some of our offerings include assistance with the following:
Meal Preparation
Medication Administration
Laundry and Housekeeping
Social and Recreational Activities
Assisted living provides your loved one with the opportunity to interact with peers through day-to-day relations, planned activities, and events. Residents can focus on socializing, having fun, and building relationships while still feeling at ease knowing support is available if needed. While still valuing the independence of our residents, we always want to assist them in living their most comfortable lives.
Skilled and Intermediate Nursing Care
All residents are provided daily nursing services that are directed by physician’s orders and treatment plans.
Skilled nursing provides short-term care to residents focused on recovery and rehabilitation so they can return to their normal lives as quickly as possible. These services are often utilized during recuperation from serious health issues and are not able to be cared for at home.
Intermediate care is utilized for residents who do not require daily medical treatment but are unable to sufficiently care for themselves at home. This option provides light nursing care and assistance with daily activities. This is often the type of care that is pursued when looking for a balance of independence with an appropriate level of care, found in nursing homes.

I had a wonderful experience for 9 1/2 months. The rooms are beautiful, food was not exceptional but I always enjoyed my meals. I was always well cared for. I never felt neglected. Nursing staff was very good.

I cannot begin to describe the Hell my Mom went through in that disgusting rat hole of a place. She had bruises, crying and pleading we took her out and straight to the Hospital....she had a severe UTI. I won't go into anymore detail, but if you love and care about your family, don't even consider that place. We were blinded by their lies....when the truth came out, it was horrible. My Mom has since recovered, but still thinks about the nightmares she lived in there. Stonespring in Vandalia isn't much better, I k ow I was there with my Husband.

The Sanctuary is an amazing place that really cares about the well being of their patients. Unfortunately, over the past several years, my mom has spent time in many short term rehab facilities in the local area. The Sanctuary is by far the best overall! The building always looks and smells clean. The staff is extremely friendly and always attentive. The food is outstanding! There is no better therapy team anywhere! The therapy team goes above and beyond to tend to my moms individual needs. The nursing staff go out of their way to ensure patients receive the best personalize care possible. I have been highly impressed with the communication and the support from all the staff. Honestly, from all our previous experiences elsewhere, the Sanctuary at Wilmington Place is the best place to provide true quality care for your loved ones.

If I could give no stars I would. My father was there 3 weeks for rehab, the rehab the they provided for him was minimum and he ended up getting worse when we took him home. They do not communicate with the family and when you are released, they don't make sure you have all the to things your loved ones need to continue to rehabilitate at home. The director has a very nasty attitude. Do not go here, this place is absolutely terrible!
