The Residence at Five Corners Reviews

The Residence at Five Corners robbed me of my mother. She lived there for only seven months before she died, and I will never stop being furious with management and myself for trusting them. I was already in the process of looking for another memory care facility to get her out, but it was too late. Too late to save her, too late to give her the dignity she deserved, too late for one last Christmas together. My daughter will grow up with only a few fragile memories of her grandmother because of this place. From the start, the warning signs were there. On her very first night, I found her lying on the floor in the dark. She fell again and again under their watch. Her final fall left her bruised, bloodied, with broken teeth and a brain bleed. Within a week, she was gone. I still see her battered face in my mind every day. I witnessed caregivers scream at my mother and tell her that her family members were dead. That is the level of cruelty that passes as “care” here. Staff are overworked, undertrained, and completely unprepared to handle memory care. They fed her food she couldn’t chew, then took it away untouched. She wasted away before my eyes. When I begged management for answers—where she fell, who was on duty, who called the ambulance—they told me they didn’t have to give me that information. They promised me a summary and never gave one. But they had no problem sending me bill after bill, even laundry charges months after she died. Their only concern was money and filling her bed. This facility robs you twice: once of your money, and again of the time, dignity, and memories you should have had with your loved one. I will carry the guilt of trusting them forever. Please, please—if you value your family, do not put them in The Residence at Five Corners.

I appreciate ALL of the Five Corners staff! From the warm & welcoming receptionists at the front desk who greet you with a smile and happy hello, to the kind caring aides who take great care of the residents, the fantastic team of nurses who truly work together as a team, the awesome directors of both Residence at Five Corners and Reflections Memory Care who care about the well-being of each and every individual member of this whole community, and the whole kitchen staff who are so kind and joke around with the residents, the recreational staff who plan and participate in a variety of fun and engaging activities with the residents, and the wonderful custodial and cleaning crew! They know every resident and help with any issue that arises, big or small, they are there to be sure things run smoothly. The physical therapist, occupational therapists, and speech staff are the best!! They work with each individual resident on the care plan and get them stronger and back to their baseline again. Together, this whole team truly make Five Corners the best experience for your loved ones! Last but not least, and most importantly, the RESIDENTS who live there are kind, caring, welcoming, friendly, and they all look out for one another. That’s what truly makes it a special community, in my opinion! New friendships are built here. It’s about quality of life with excellent care. I do not have to worry because I know that my loved ones are being well cared for. Whenever I have a question or a concern, I reach out directly to the proper staff member and I hear back in a good response time. They also have a nice variety of live, professional entertainment each month and this brings lots of smiles. They keep up with the beautiful grounds, landscaping, and seasonal decorations both inside and outside! That’s all for now. Peace, Marcy S. 🙂

My mother lives at The Residence at Five Corners and she is a more spry and happy 93 years old than she was when she moved in 14 months ago! Her quality of life is great and it absolutely warms my heart and eases my worries that has embraced her “new family” (as she says) with joy and contentment. The staff are great, dedicated to their work, and warm and caring to those who live there. I feel very welcomed when I visit (which is often). Anytime I feel I need to reach out, have questions or a concern, all the staff are responsive and supportive. I feel respected and that they partner with me to ensure my mother’s overall wellbeing. I can’t imagine how different my Mom’s life would have been if she still lived alone in an apartment building. At the Residence, she has her independence and privacy which is what she was afraid she would lose by moving there. She is very active in the activities offered and even teaches a water colors classes. Mom’s world actually got bigger and her quality of life better by living at The Residence. She still see her friends outside the Residence, is active in the Easton Garden Club, and goes to the Easton Y for fitness and friendship. The facility is lovely, clean and the garden and ground beautiful. I simply can’t express how comforted and happy I am that Mom lives at the Residence.

My mom has been at the Residence for a year and a half . She loves her spacious apartment and the beautiful facility and grounds. We find the help very friendly and kind, and she enjoys participating in many of the activities. Over the course of the year there were some concerns about the food service, but she has shared that efforts have been made to improve in this area, which she was appreciative of. Overall, we have been happy with the Residence and I take comfort in knowing she is happy and safe in beautiful surroundings.
